Phillip Danault was given opportunities to deny that he rejected a long-term offer from the Canadiens last offseason and he did not. Said he was concerned about his role with emergence of Suzuki and Kotkaniemi, but felt playoffs confirmed the player he is and his value.

I'd think 5-6 years around $5million AAV. At the very least he's an elite 3C and should be worth around what Pageau and Gourde make. Will that be with Montreal? I don't know.

If he does go into FA I say he goes to one of these 3 teams

1. Boston
2. Vegas
3. Minnesota

Why those teams? Boston already has Bergeron as their defensive center. Minnesota has JEE. and Vegas needs more offense, not defense. All of those teams would prefer a more offensive center.

because Kreji is probs going back home to play in the Czech league to retire there as he planned and Bergerons contract is soon gonna be up and he aint getting any younger. Danault plays a similar defensive game and could be nice in between Marchand and Pasta in 2 years. Minissota has EKK yes but who else, Harman aint a 2c, neither is Rask nor sturm. Danault would work nicely as that defensive presence on a team really wanting a top 6 center. Then Vegas who as we saw really needs a true top 6 center besides Karlsson. Stephenson is nice but imagine Danault between Stone and Paccoretty. Could be something similar to Drouin-Danault-Gallagher

I've only been a member on capfriendly for 5 months now, but this is definitely the longest thread I have seen yet and I'm guessing it's the longest ever.
