Rangers would never move Chytil for Hertl straight up. Chytil will be top-30 centre in this league. He gets no credit for the things he does. The offer is Howden, a prospect like Robertson or Jones and a pick.

Hertl production as slipped in the past two years, while young Chytil's has improved in his three years. Gee, I can't see that trade being good for Rangers at all.

I don't see Hertl going back to San Jose. Too many overpriced veterans over there that will keep them from competing for quite some time.

I see him hitting Free Agency. If Rangers really are interested, would rather just wait an extra year then give up assets now.

Your offer for Hertl is awful. No way Wilson excepts that. The offer presented by the OP gets a deal done. Though he has probably overpaid a bit.

If the Sharks show any sort of interest whatsoever, Hertl stays in SJ. He loves it here, we love him, and he's good. It's as simple as that.

If that's the offer, then the answer is a very easy no. Think Chytil is going to be a good player, but the numbers this year are riding some insanely high puck luck numbers. Hertl is a legit 1B center and only 27. Have to give to get in this league and prime aged top 6 centers don't come available often.

That said, think Hertl is way more likely to sign a long-term extension in SJ than be dealt. However, if he is dealt it would be for someone like Chytil who can play in the NHL now rather than a host of futures.
