Ottawa already looks like a good team in the future.
Really excited to see what they look like in a few years. They are one of my favourite teams.
Clarke would be a good selection in my opinion, he should be the top player Ottawa wants. Other than maybe Guether. Because drafting by need is most important this year instead of best player available.

i mean i feel like we’d take eklund in this case, but if we did nab clarke then brannstrom would have to be out the door for a high end F prospect

1) Guenther
2) Beniers
3) Clarke
4) Johnson/Eklund
Imo but yeah if we take Clarke, it would be Brannstrom + for a top line winger

Everyone wants Guenther. He’s like a Kyle Connor but way better defensively and way more dynamic.

But they play different sides? I feel like it wouldn’t affect Brannstrom at all, plus Clarke is most likely still a year or two away

and he can play either wing, goes to hard areas, a lot to like about his game.

We already have 3 lefties who will likely be in our long term top 4 (chabot/sanderson/brannstrom) so one of them will most likely be playing the right side at some point, and the obvious choice is brannstrom who has experience there (and iirc is quoted as saying he prefers the right side). Clarke plays the same style as brannstrom in that they are both dynamic offensively, but as a natural right handed guy it would make sense to have him partnered with a defensive left handed guy (like sanderson) which leaves brannstrom outside our top 4, which is demeaning to his skill level, meaning we should trade him to get max value back by adding to our forward core if we draft clarke.


I think we might try to add a 2LD. Something like chabot-zub / 2LD-zaitsev / brannstrom-jbd / mete-brown would be decent depth without thrusting the young guys into the top 4 too early

We can all agree that Comtois-Zegras-Guenther is the line everyone wants to happen
