Here take some crap that looks good and give us your franchise player. To all my Ranger fans out there, pretend you’re a BUF fan (I know it is difficult) but do you really think they are accepting a trade for their franchise center that doesn’t include Lafrienere?

That eichel trade is no where close to anything that the sabres would possibly consider. Some combo of Lafreniere Kakko Fox and picks would need to be involved

I mean Kakko has been significantly better than Lafrienere this season. But I would hope the sabres won’t trade Jack for a defensive winger.

This trade is definitely not enough, but it is a Kakko combo, no?

No, just no. The Rangers are not parting with their franchise defenseman and a franchise winger for one franchise center. Kakko i can see them working with, but not Laf and Fox. heck honestly i could see them part with Buch over Kakko first

If they want Eichel yes. Ffs, thinking you are getting a top7 center in the league signed long term. It’s the dumbest thing on CF, watching Ranger fans do ACGM after ACGM trading for Eichel and basically never coming up with a realistic package. It’s not even entertaining anymore.

Kakko is involved but him alone isnt enough. Essentially it starts at at least one of Lafreniere or Fox then start adding

Thats fine if they dont want to trade Laf or Fox. Youre just not getting Jack Eichel then

Who’s gonna tell Rangers fans that they’re either overvaluing Kakko or that they have no idea how good Jack Eichel is?

Except it doesn't involve Fox and it doesn't involve Lafreniere if Kakko is involved. I thought we already settled this debate yesterday that a Eichel trade will look like Lafreniere/Kakko, Strome, Schneider, Georgiev, a 1st, and a 2nd...

I mean, what gets me is the inclusion of deangelo and Strome as if they add value to the trade. I’d say it’s the opposite. Don’t get me wrong, i don’t expect laf, kakko, fox, etc. personally, I’d want Laf and Miller in the deal and work from there. Whether it happens. That’s a different story. I don’t expect the Rangers to give up the future either.

DeAngelo is indubitably the opposite lol, but if you think Strome decreases value, then you haven't assessed his play since the 2019-20 season.

I agree actually. I don’t think he decreases the value, but I don’t know that Buffalo would want him in place of a younger player. Accepting Strome means sacrificing younger talent for return.

That's fair. But I feel like accepting Strome gives you a placeholder for the void that Eichel would leave. He'd be a short term bandage

The rumor is that the ask is four 1st round equivalents. I don’t mind accepting Strome, but I would think that would be in addition to rest. Maybe something additional goes back to the Rangers like a draft pick.

Its also the dumbest thing seeing people who arent rangers fans claiming that Eichel is going to cost a forward with the same potential as him, a top 10 dman in the league, another future top 20 winger and multiple first round picks. Laffy is not going to be included. Get over that

I’m not a fan of either. Laffy has done exactly 14pts in 45 games, that he some how equates to a ppg elite 1C is a stretch to say the least. What amazes me is how Ranger fans will over value everybody they are trading and under value anybody they are acquiring. An elite 1C is the most valuable asset in the sport, I just find it comical that Ranger fans don’t think Laffy wouldn’t be a piece that BUF says without him no deal and have significantly more leverage than the Rangers.

But he wouldn't. Whether that means the Rangers will have enough to acquire Eichel without Lafreniere is another story, but he's objectively untouchable UNLIKE Jack Eichel (who would only be traded if he explicitly requests one). And that's also why you're dead wrong about Buffalo having more leverage than their trade partner in an Eichel trade -- I would've thought the Taylor Hall deal evidenced that already.

I'm not saying that Laffy is equivalent to Eichel rn, im saying that his potential is a franchise winger which is practically what eichel is just a different position. Every teams fanbase will over/under value, like some of these eichel trades are terrible bc it either has the rangers paying too much or too little. So don't act like the rangers fans are the ones creating horrible trades when there's just as many coming back the other way. Buffalo does not have significantly more leverage bc Eichel wants out and has the neck injury and there's guys like Barkov that the Rangers could go after too. Laffy is not being included. Period.

BUF has leverage because he is signed for 5 more years, that’s a massive amount of leverage. Also how are the Rangers going to go after a guy in Barkov that isn’t available? FLA had a better season than NYR, are positioned for long term success (especially if they can conjure up a way of getting rid of Bob) AND have those magical non existent state income tax. I think the neck injury gets over played. Anybody that is acquiring him is going to have access to his medicals so you aren’t acquiring a guy that you aren’t confident is going to be ok. And C is the most important position, go real fast and make the 10 best players in the league. How many were C’s? 6,7 maybe 8. If Addams is smart he does what Sakic did with Duchene, wait until he gets the deal he wants.

No they don't have leverage bc he wants out and has a bad neck injury. Barkov they can go after the same way as Eichel next season, trade, and if not hes a UFA th next year. We're talking ab Adams here, not Sakic. Yeah Center is the most important position but that doesn't mean that it will cost the rangers something like Fox (Norris winner), Laffy, Kakko, a first and more, like get out of here
