On the surface it seems crazy based on name recognition but the deal breaks down to a 4th for a .5ppg winger having a down year for a serviceable veteran defenseman that the devils still need, a rookie mystery box that’s just under .5ppg and a 3rd. The deal doesn’t make sense for either side

He's also 2 years younger and the only shooter on NJ's roster
