Can't see the Jets trading Copp.

Gusev has been quite bad this year.

Copp is more important to than Jets than upgrading the bottom pair LD.

yeah I know, I just think it's a bad fit in NJ. I'd rather take the chance of him blossoming in another place, than a 2nd round pick in a weak draft

I'd rather use that second in a buyers market to pick up a more useful player.

No way would I pay a second for Gusev without it coming with 50% retention. And even that, I probably still don’t touch it anymore. I would have only touched it to get Geno going but since him and Kap have been 🔥, not really a need now. If I get anyone from New Jersey, it’s to get Zajac at 50% retention for a 2nd maybe. Since Blueger is out longer term. Don’t really think we need another LW. Zucker should be relatively close to returning since he is skating again. 3C and 3RW is where my focus would go with 3C being most important.

That’s quite a solid lineup. Especially if the pens could find a cheap upgrade at 3RW too.

The Penguins don't have a surplus of RD and that is the biggest need for the Jets.

That Pettersson trade doesnt make sense due to the expansion draft. Also, Copp has been so important, I dont see them wanting to part ways. A Pettersson trade makes more sense this offszn.
Also, I only give up a 3rd for Gusev based on how he has played.

Goose was very solid last year. This year, doesn't fit with the roster. Ruff doesn't seem to like him. I think he a change of scenery would be good for him. 2nd/3rd round pick would be his value

Zajac is a good pickup for your 3C slot and makes a lot of sense. His d zone FO alone almost makes it worth it. Window closing for Pitt and Geno being out woukd make TZ a good pickup

As a struggling UFA-to-be, no way he gets a 2nd. Particularly with way more sellers than buyers this year.
