Watson has a good cap hit and term and along with Gudbranson, they have been good pickups for Ottawa from the offseason and we'll probably hang on to at least one of them.

Of the two, Gudbranson is the most likely to be traded by the deadline because he's a pending UFA but he might stick around on a team-friendly deal because he's an Ottawa native.

Ottawa does not want Gruden or Rodrigues.

Ottawa traded Gruden to Pittsburgh during the offseason to get Matt Murray and we probably don't want him back.

Rodrigues was nothing more than a filler from the Kasperi Kapanen trade, is on LTIR and is a pending UFA, so his value is zero.

For the trade to make sense for Ottawa, just take out Gruden and Rodrigues and then insert a 4th or 5th round pick

Rodriguez played today. I think both Watson and Gubs will be moved. Neither is a long term solution for Ottawa. Gubs played here and would fit right in. The picks you reference could happen but they'll still need warm bodies to fill the roster in the meantime. So I agree on the filler statement. Plus he's league minimum. That's a plus for Ottawa.
