Description

Here is a few coach that could get a chance in MTL.

Dominique Ducharme could keep the seat of head coach if he does well.

Joel Bouchard is an interesting option, but I would prefer that he stays in the AHL to develop the kids.

André Tourigny have probably won everything in hockey. I think that its just a matter of time before he gets his chance.

Mike Babcock could be an option, but wouldnt be the best choice.

Patrick Roy said that he was happy in Quebec. I think that we should look at him, but im not sure about him.

Gerard Gallant or Jim Montgomery are 2 other guys I can think about.

I just dont want anyone say: The coach need to speak french, cause we are in a french province, so stfu.

Did I forgot anyone that could get the job?

He knows the Leafs system and has experience, but my guess is that they won't risk it. The guy has lost his reputation.

If you want to win-take the best coach available.
If you want to be mediocre, but still able to reminisce about how good the team was when there were only 5 other teams in the league-Take the French guy.

The problem with Babs is he's still under contract with the Leafs. To have him has an assistant coach you'd have to come to terms with them which likely means paying his entire head coach salary. You can't have an assistant coach earning more money than the head coach, that has disaster written all over it.

It’s why I think his next step in the NHL is as a number 2. There’s probably not a lot of situations where he’d contemplate being second fiddle, but if he would, Montreal would have to be at the top of his list.
