So you're saying Vilardi is gonna be Kopitar, then you argued that prime Kopitar was better than Eichel. So if you're saying prime Kopitar is better than Eichel, and you said Vilardi will be Kopitar, you therefore said Vilardi will arguably be better than Eichel.

As for your take on Buffalo it makes no sense. First off, both teams easily decline the 7 for 2. Second Eichel has never cried or demanded a trade. Not sure where you pulled that take from

I guess we differ when it comes to what kind of player Vilardi will become. Regardless, if Vilardi only becomes this "solid 2nd line center" as you suggest and Kings add Turcotte, Kaliyev, Kempe, and two 1st round picks, that is still a massive overpay from LA and the Kings are much worse than before.

At the very least, its only a 2 year setback for Buffalo while Vilardi develops into his potential, Turcotte and Kaliyev makes the jumps, and guys like Cozens and Mittelstadt come into their own.

Again, glad we came to an agreement that we both would not make this trade.

I just see him as more of a Brayden Schenn/Jeff Carter ceiling player than a Sebastain Aho level.

I've never heard anyone come up with such a comparison.

The lowest potential comparison I've heard was Jason Allison, hopefully less injury prone since he's been healthy for awhile now. Although, those of us who watched Allison know how good he was despite always struggling with injuries.

Time will tell what he turns into.
