Seattle Expansion Draft

We sell of Byron’s contract to Seattle and give them our first round pick, which we don’t need anymore with our prospect core. We also give them a third as well, as we still have two of them for this year. As for giving them Vejdemo, we send a solid player who has potential forth line upside. Pretty much, we send Seattle this surplus for them not to take Jake Allen from us. Other goalie options for them are Adin Hill (Arizona), Braden Holtby (Vancouver), Marisa Kivlenieks (Columbus), Khudobin/Bishop (Dallas), and many more. Who knows! Maybe Byron gets back to scoring at a 30-40 point pace if he can play with Seattle’s top players. Byron’s speed is so insane, which makes him such a lethal player.

Huh? For a team void of any prospects, the trade above is pretty darn good. Vejdemo is not a strong enough prospect though. It'd have to be Harris or Norlinder or Strubble or someone like that. Primeau at this rate is 'almost' a blue chip prospect.
Danault contract is too high.
Tatar contract is too high.
Kotkaniemi is low imo.
I'd prefer to keep Armia than Tatar personally.

You do realize Detroit sucks right? A 3rd pairing D on a bottom dwelling team is essentially an AHLer. So stop with your Detroit's not doing this, or not doing that, or no way. You have a case if you were referring to a competitive team like Tampa, Colorado, Vegas, Boston, etc.

Exactly this. He was easily our third best defenseman in camp. The only reason I can even wrap my head around for why he's not playing this season, is the organization would rather he play huge minutes in GR.

I just dont see the worth of Danault making that much aav. He is a stud defensively but he isn't needed nor does he succeed on the offensive end. He is a really good 3rd C or a good shut down 2c on a team with a stacked top line. I like him but that aav as a third line center seems overpriced. I'm assuming you can get cheaper shut down centers that can play 3c and get no pp time

Habs can just buy out Byron in the off-season, they won't give a up 1st rounder even if it's the 32nd pick.
