This is the same thing Buffalo fans say every year. And really do you think Pittsburgh is going to have league leading injuries again? Buffalo better hope Washington, Islanders and Boston all regress big time and the Rangers don't improve because if any of that doesn't happen you are looking like you could be 2nd last to last in the division. It's unfortunate you for stuck in the strongest division

The division is over rated. Pitt doesnt need injuries to regress. Washington will be in the top 2 of the division, Boston got doesnt have Pasta to start the year and their roster took a hit, the Islanders may not have Barzal

I mean your just completely blind to the roster over haul and are judging the current roster, that has that has swapped out 66% of its forwards over the last 2 years, on where they were in the past.
https://www.pensburgh.com/2012/2/14/2791955/mario-lemieux-was-much-closer-to-moving-the-penguins-than-hed-like

If you even read that article you would see clearly,

“ Mario Lemieux says the Penguins never were serious about leaving Pittsburgh.
"It wasn't a possibility," Lemieux said during a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday for Pittsburgh's $290 million hockey arena.

"We had to do a few things to put pressure on the city and the state, but our goal was to remain here in Pittsburgh all the way. Those trips to Kansas City and Vegas and other cities was just to go and have a nice dinner, and come back."

Washington, Boston, Pittsburgh, the Rangers and likely the Islanders are all better. You added Hall and hope that Cozens is going to be an elite player immediately because he had a good world Juniors. He won't and he may only ever be a decent to good 2nd liner, you still have a ways to go. On top of that you have some problem contracts that will hurt long term.

I think Pittsburgh gets an unfair shake. They were a good team last year with ridiculous injuries and everyone on here is like "see they are declining". I just hate when people use outlier information to justify a totally bias opinion. It happens with TO all the time, look at last year they disappointed, sure and had terrible injuries, a coaching change and an unlucky play in. All that is just bad luck and outlier stuff. When a team does okay when everything goes wrong, what do you think it's going to look like if somethings go right?

If you want to calculate it yourself do it like this (basically I don't want to calculate it but I can give you the outline of how to easily):

Step 1 - Divide the cap ceiling (81.5M) by the numbers of days in this season (January 13th to April something). *this is the maximum cap you can spend per day*
Step 2 - Divide the teams cap post camp roster (or what you expect it to be) by the number of days in the season. *this is the cap your team is paying per day*
Step 3 - Subtract your teams "cap per day" from the "maximum cap per day." *this will give you the amount of cap space you accrue per day*
Step 4 - Take the "accrued cap per day" from Step 3 and multiply it by the amount of days until the Trade Deadline. *this will give you the total accrued cap space by the TDL*

This will give your total accrued cap space by the TDL
*should be noted that this assumes zero injuries and zero roster changes

Yes theyre really banking on the 15 minute a night 3rd line center to be elite. They clearly dont have the luxury of sheltering the 3rd line. Youre also writing off Cozens just to win an argument. They drafted Cozens to be a good 2nd liner and dont need him to be for a few years. The sabres have one problem contract

You are paying a 2nd line 60 point winger 9 million and a 4th liner 5+.

This is capfriendly logic at its finest, everyone is positive Marner is a problem contract but Skinner is fine.

Cool, Weegar doesn't exactly make Florida great. He's just a decent right handed 2nd pair defenceman, not at all special.

Obviously you don't watch the panthers, and I don't blame you for it

This sounds like a Pesce conversation. He's just a good player but everyone treats him like he's elite. He is not, and neither is Weegar.

Of course. It's all guesswork at this point.
