Absolutely not. Oilers pass on that trade al day long. Just because he isn’t a Leaf anymore doesn’t make him any more desirable from the 100000000000 times leaf fans tried pawning him off to oil country.

He’d be a good fit there lol. Better than Neal and a MUCH better contract.

What are you talking about??? Why wouldn't the Oilers accept that? They get a younger player on a better contract and unload a horrible contract. There would be no chance Devils accept.

???? Johnson is fair value for his contract. Leafs had to unload him for cap reasons, which the Oilers have little. Seems like a Neal for Johnson trade favours the Oilers considerable.

But in this post, I doubt if Hamilton signs with Oilers or Reimer or RNH are good long term deals.

No chance Holloway is ready for 3C duties next year.

Give the kid a chance to develop first.

In fact, that whole proposed third line is actually a fourth line.

By next year we'll know if McLeod is ready for 4C duties.

Also, you're paying Benson about double what he'll make on his next contract -- barring a PPG season this year, of course.

And here's hoping Yamamoto pops so much he earns $5M/yr.

RNH will likely produce well into his thirties. He's a top candidate to age well.

Agreed on the other points though. Reimer is not needed -- Konovalov will be ready for a backup role by then. And we don't need Hamilton and the circus that follows him around now that we finally have some depth at RHD.

He might have a better contract but I’d take Neal the player over him any day of the week. Keep in mind Neal posted 19 goals in a season he spent half of on one good foot. I think he’s much better than this site gives credit for.

He still has a horrible contract and you would have to pay to get rid of him. Johnsson has more value than Neal
