I wouldn't do that deal if I'm Minny. Boldy and Vilardi is basically a wash and Dumba is worth way more than Carter

So I tend to agree with @TheAlien on this. Like Vilardi's game and too me, if the Wild could in the near future swing a second line of Boldy -Vilardi -Kaprizov, I would be syched.

I echo what @TheAlien says above. Boldy for Vilardi 1:1 is pretty darn close to a wash.
Something like Dumba for Vilardi, Carter and a pick might make sense too.

I love Vilardi but Boldy AND Dumba for him and Carter is a no go for me. I don't even know if I'd do a 1-1 Boldy, Vilardi swap if I'm honest. Not because I believe the value would be that much in LA's favour but instead because of our prospect pool depth. I think trading for or signing a veteran makes more sense with the current makeup of the organization.

Yeah I don't see a situation where this makes sense for the Wild. Vilardi does have a bit more value than Boldy, but it's not Dumba+taking on Carter's contract different. At that point, the WIld are looking for another Vilardi-level or similar asset.

I've seen a lot of comments about the statement that came out from LA the other day, and lot of misinterpreting of what was said. I'm going to try to clear the air.

1) The quote was from the coach, not the owner.
2) There was nothing in the comments that said they'd be trading their pieces to compete now.
3) The only purpose of what he was saying was to convey that the 5 leaders on the team from the Cup years (Kopitar, Brown, Carter, Doughty, and Quick) do not have to worry about being traded anymore. The tear-down portion of the rebuild is done, and they likely won't be making trades that support a rebuild (ie, vets/scorers out for picks and prospects).
4) As such, the next step of the rebuild ISN'T trading away players like Vilardi or Turcotte or Kaliyev or whoever, it's getting them playing time. Vilardi isn't on the table.
