11/23 are Kings, I'm surprised

I really wish you'd use your brain before you speak sometimes.

Kings are the have the best depth down the middle other than Sharks, but Couture and Hertl aren't even that good.

Top 6 LW, Bertuzzi and Tkachuk are the best on all the teams.

Top 6 RW, Silverberg and Mantha are the best on all the teams.

I was able to add Henrique and Lablanc on the 3rd line since there was enough cap space.

Kempe is easily the best 3LW on all those teams.

Moore-Lizotte-Wagner was one of the best 4th lines in the league during the Kings 7 game win streak.

Chabot and Doughy are the obvious 1st pair.

Lindholm and Manson were very good together IMO and would make a great 2nd pair.

Ferraro and Roy are obvious, same with Gibson/Petersen.


There wasn't enough cap space to add Burns, EK, Dadonov, Rackell, Couture, Hertl, Kane, etc.

What's the point in doing it over the cap? Anyone can guess what that would look like and you're silly if you think this team is anywhere out of a playoff spot.

You have to swap Larkin in for Henrique, and find the $275K in cap difference.

Also, getting rid of Kopitar and Doughty would allow you to upgrade a lot.

Zadina, Batherson, Ferraro are three low cost, quality ELC players.

Kopitar is the best center on all those teams by a lot so no I won't do that.

Doughty would be the 1RD on more than half the league so no, not doing that either.

I would remove Doughty and insert Walker...saving $8.35M. I'd also remove Bertuzzi and insert Timo Meier...drops the savings to $5.85M. Remove Vilardi and insert Larkin...savings now $644k. much better team IMO.

Chabot >>> Doughty. He's the best Dman on this team. No need to spend $11M on a guy that won't be the best. Use it on making the team better overall. This team lacks scoring and center depth.

Doughty is better than Chabot... Doughty was the best defenseman in the league for almost a decade 3 years ago and since then, he doesn't look any different than Chabot on paper.... Only Doughty is still way better defensively. Just watch him, especially the games against Calgary.

Swap Kopitar and LeBlanc for Larkin and Dadonov, and you save $3.6MM, and you have a RW of Mantha, Dadonov, and Silfverberg, all playing on the lines they are best suited for. You even get to keep Henrique. Use that $3.6MM to improve the fourth line, and remember, Ottawa has the best value to $$ for their bottom6. Trevor Moore has no place on this team, swap in Nick Paul, a 3rd liner, for your 4th line.

You say Doughty is way better defensively...He's a MINUS FIFTY the last 2 seasons. I'm not the biggest fan of +/-, but FIFTY?!?!?! Dude can't can't play defense anymore. Might as well put him at wing like Burns. I do watch him. I agree 100% that years ago he was one of the best Dmen in the league. So was Duncan Keith...my favorite Dman. I'm just not pretending it's 2015 anymore.

Oh and games against Calgary...isn't your best argument. From a neutral observer Tkachuck gets the better of him with the exception of the freaking elbow. That was complete BS.

So you are basically saying since he was a -34 in 2018-19 but a -16 last season then he is improving? Lol. Everyone knows +/- is a bad way to evaluate a players defense ability since there are so many variables such as playing on a rebuilding team, playing with bottom pair D as partners, bad goaltending, etc which were all factors Doughty faced.

Your Tkachuk argument means nothing to me because if you actually watch those games start to finish, Doughty was literally elite defensively and most of those games Doughty beat Tkachuk on the scoreboard and Kings won a lot of those games.

The fact is, unless you've watcher Doughty every game, you have no idea what you are talking about because you literally have not watched him.

Then I guess that means you literally have zero clue on any of the other 4 teams which is why you have 11/23 kings players. Kings have an OUTSTANDING farm system...it's because the earned it by sucking ass for YEARS...including Doughty. I agree with you on a lot of points. Kopitar is still a great 2-way player, but $11M is WAY WAY too much for Doughty and that money can be spent in better ways for the team above.
