Description
Tyler Johnson's contract is probably untradeable so he stays. McDonagh has 2 sweeteners plus retained salary for a bottom 4-6 defender. Nashville could use Killorn and for a 3rd I'm not sure they'd do that, but I'm okay as long as it's a 5th or higher and we don't get any cap back. The Cirelli contract is comparable to Debrusk's contract. A little bit higher because he's a center. Philly could use depth, their trying to contend, and they have cap space. They give up basically nothing for a good 4th liner.

So basically Ryan McDonagh at $6,250.000 x 6 to LA, And Raddysh and a 3rd round pick aren't enough to move that contract those 2 sweeteners aren't enough.

Is the trade one LA would do?

I don't know really anything about those prospects going to LA, but I'd say the compensation is almost fine. However, I don't think the Kings will want to take on McDonagh as he doesn't really fit our time line.

Yeah they might accept this one, Just not sure they've interest in an aging LD like McDonagh though. Kings are going with a much younger core now.

He would be a great mentor for young players which is something every rebuild needs. Somppi isn't a great prospect (probably bottom 6 at best), but Raddysh is a pretty good prospect.

He could be a locker room guy, mentor, and leader while still being a good player.

This trade doesn’t really work out for either the Kings or Bolts. The Bolts will likely keep him

Rebuilding teams don't want to take 30+ year olds long term. I think McDonagh can be moved but the Kings aren't where, especially if they are moving one of the few successful NHL graduates. The picks don't matter if the Kings can't afford to pay their core in 3-4 years.

You're probably right that McDonagh won't be traded there, but by the time most of the young players have to be paid Kopitar, Brown, and Carter will either be gone or on smaller contracts.

Again so many Tampa fans think their veteran NTC players who play in Florida, and on a Cup Championship are just going to waive their NTCs and getting traded to bottom dwelling teams just because they have cap.
C'mon...let's get real. Those NTCs aren't falling on the cap sword for Tampa management. It's the RFAs that need to be traded.

Well in case you didn't know one of the RFA's has already signed. That means the Lightning probably have a trade lined up. As for McDonagh California isn't a bad place to live and they could tell him they're giving his playing time to Sergachev. .

Kings have Doughty and Maatta for that though.

Yep, but they have to pay Byfield, Vilardi, Turcotte, Bjornfot, Kupari, Andersson, Kaliyev, Fagemo, Madden, Grans, Roy, Petersen, amongst others. The problem with a great prospect pool is it will eventually get expensive. Look at what NY will have to deal with in the next few years.

???? Kinda meaningless that Sergachev has already signed. He CAN be traded, despite being signed. Actually his trade value has gone up cause teams know his $$$ cost. McDonagh, Palat don't have to leave their cushy position with Tampa. Killorn can be traded. Johnson probably wants to be traded rather than being in Syracuse, though an AHL demotion doesn't save much cap. Johnson is certainly an unwanted 5m X 4 yrs by any team.

LA Kings probably isn't a good place for McDonagh. Last place team, poor travel schedule, probably most taxes, Really, c'mon why should McDonagh waive? Just to appease fantasy rosters?

Killorn has M NTC...but still can be a value to any team, though Tampa will have few options on who actually can take him for cap reasons
Trading Johnson. His age, declining numbers, high cap and four years left....might just be impossible to trade. So that still leaves Cirelli, and Sergachev as possible big cap hits as players to be traded.
