I still think they might want to bridge Dubois now for 3 to put him past the Werenski/Jones contract re-negotiations.
This would probably be around $6.5M, which would make his next contract much higher (just look at Bob's contract at $7.4M and he wanted ((and got)) $10M on his next).
I think Dubois might want to just sign his long term deal now.
This would put him still in his prime at 29 when it expires.
I am guessing his long term deal would probably have to start with an 8, say $8M x 8 or $8.25M x 8. That would probably do it.
Jarmo is probably waiting to see what Barzal signs for, and using that as a benchmark (on the high side, since Barzal's numbers are slightly better than Dubois').
