Giving up Lundkvist probably hurts so I appreciate the "break an egg to make an omelet" here. I'd say that package gets it done from STL's side because 1. solves the cap trouble this year, 2. eliminates the redundancy of Krug/Dunn/Perunovich looking for the same usage, and 3. I'm really high on Nils, I think he will be a really good NHLer. Not sure if the Rangers would want to make that move though, they can still be patient with K'Andre and Nils if they want to.

I think he means Cirelli wouldn't take 4 mil in New York because of the taxes. But that doesn't make sense to me because it would be a similar contract to Courtourier's second contract.

If that's what NYR are willing to offer the Blues, I think they take it just based on the need for young RHD for their system and Lundkvist's potential.
