Looks good to me, if the jackets take it. Key is not sure if they do, maybe add another pick.

Maybe you guys are right. But I was looking at it in the context that Josh Anderson probably needs a change of scenery after his dismal year. We have to consider that Johnsson is only owed a total of 5m in the last 2 years of his deal. That's huge value for CBJ for potentially 20-25 goals.

Also, it appears CBJ is going to with Elvis as their future #1 as they have him signed for more money and longer term than Korpisalo. So instead of paying Korpisalo the 2.2m+ he is due this year and 3.4m next year, they only have to pay Fredrick Andersen 1m this year, and still have a pretty good tandem.

Trading Savard, who is their 2nd RHD on the in exchange for Holl saves them 2.25m as Holl can play in the bottom 4.

Adding that 2nd round pick sort of gives the CBJ a bonus pick for taking on the Ansersen cap hit for the one year. Maybe that 2nd rounder needs to be a 1st? I don't think that would be necessary to do but I dunno. Just my 2 cents here.

We have to remember that some of the smaller market teams are looking to shed real dollars owed considering the pandemic issues.

Thanks for checking out my roster and the comments, guys!

Too often do people only think player for player face value. So many of these teams are bleeding money right now and will continue to in years to come. They need to shed salary, without losing cap. This is a major advantage for the Leafs.

This CBJ trade actually makes a lot of sense for both teams. Maybe the Leafs need to throw in a prospect sweetener for the deal (or more likely take on the LTIR contract of Dubinsky), but the Jackets shed a lot of salary, get two players under contract for multiple seasons, as well as Andersen who is under contract from one less year than Korp, but as much less real salary.

Key note: to those who say Dubinsky's contract is covered by insurance. The team still needs to pay 25% of the salary in cash, and premiums go up when exercised. These are all real costs other teams need to take into account that the Leafs can take advantage of.

this is such a TOR answer. Oh we're TOR we have money....everyone else has to do what we want.
Guess what. CBJ threw you out the playoffs. And they aren't giving up good players for your scraps.
Get over yourselves. This is total garbage for CBJ.
