problem is you've got to go all in or all out. How's Tkachuk and Andersson gonna take it when you trade every other high end player?

Fair point, but we forget that those guys are only 22 and 23 years old, respectively. I figure they can be part of the long term plans. You're right, they might not be happy about it.

There’s nothing Calgary can offer buffalo that would get them Dylan Cozens. Gaudreau does not fit Buffalo’s needs, they could use a top six right winger, they already have more left wingers than they can play.

Has the water from flint reached Buffalo, because the crap you Sabres fans spew is among the dumbest crap I've ever read.

I agree that they could be in the long term plans, but as you said, they won't be happy about it. Tkachuk would accept the first offer sheet he got from a good team

Why trade linholm? He could be part of your rebuilding core, colorados pick isn't likely to get you a better player and they're gonna need newhook on an elc when salaries start getting paid, strangely that trade seems like a loss for everyone.
The sabres trade doesn't work unless you take salary back either okposo or risto (or skinner and its a deal), on top of that they're no longer desperate for center depth and are solid on left wing, so i dont see a team that can't get off the bottom going win now mode. Its not a bad trade idea tho i could see it getting done in a way that works for both teams.

Also you got cap space still so why not pick up stepan from arizona? Might haggle a 2nd out of em and this team is a train wreck at center.

Talk about nonproductive responses that deserve attention from the moderators these days. Dylan Cozens is one of the top prospects in hockey. Buffalo already has a number 2 center for the season in Staal. It would be a waste to put him on the third line after getting Monahan in this trade. Buffalo already has Olofsson, Skinner, and Kahun at LW, there is not room for Gaudreau. However, the only natural right wingers they have Reinhart and Okposo. Cozens could play RW if they like, but they may also want to use him as the third line center. Is that a logical enough response for you?

lol I didn't say I wanted this to happen, just curious about what the team could look like if we did rebuild. Four first round draft picks in a deep draft this year, as well as some solid young players in Cozens, Tippett and Newhook seemed pretty appealing to me.

Truth be told, I actually think Calgary is closer to being a contender than people give them credit for. A couple of smart additions this offseason and Calgary could ice a very good team next year.

Okay. Yes, Cozens in a fantastic prospect, but saying he won't be traded for anything is a pretty thoughtless response, especially when the trade suggested is giving you 2 top line players, each worth more than Cozens or your 1st on their own and I figured as a Sabres fans you'd understand that not all prospects turn out, so you want to keep 2 maybes for 2 sure things.... bloody brilliant.

As for your LW depth, every player you mentioned plays both wings and not a single one of them could even carry Gaudreau's jock strap on a good day. And using 1 year of Staal to suggest you are good at C is beyond laughable. If your ownership and management think like your fanbase, it's no wonder Eichel has one foot out the door.

I respectfully disagree with just about everything you have to say. I said there’s nothing Calgary has to offer that will get them Cozens. Johnny hockey is very good, but no longer worth a top 10 first round pick, certainly not without an extension. Both he and Monahan are coming off of down years, and that eighth overall pick is very valuable. Cost controlled talent is going to be exceptionally valuable going forward in the frozen salary cap era. Adding extensive payroll without sending any out isn’t going to be smart when they have to resign both Jokiharju and Dahlin next summer. The Sabres have so many left-handed shooting wingers and so few right handed ones. I would certainly prefer to try to find balance in that regard. Playing wings on their off wing can be problematic, and has been in the last couple seasons. The Sabres need a real right winger who is right hand shot for their top six.

This is why I love that the Sabres are Edmonton east. Your fanbase is so ****ing delusional. I can't wait until Eichel is traded and you toil as a bottom feeder for another decade before almost becoming relevant again.
