Rangers accept first trade, absolutely do not for the 2nd. We have Shesterkin and Georgiev. Samsonov also didn't show Fox's value this past season. Not really close value wise.

The offer should just not be that, Gaudreau will cost you McMichael ++

I doubt he's a player Washington can afford to persue

Of goalies with 20 games played, Samsonov was 11th in save percentage. What was Fox 11th in, exactly?

edit: look at me snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Where are my manners? You liked one of my trades! YOU liked one of my trade ideas. Amazing. Let's repost it ten times until they do it! Hooray! Who cares if you want Samsonov. He probably isn't available anyway. Just thought that would help the Rangers clear $10M in cap, but what do I know?

Thank you so much for the first half of your comment. So take out Alexeyev (future #1D) and put in McMichael (future #1C). Then maybe add Hagelin, as a Swedish speedster to play on a 2nd line with Lindholm.

Yeah, but Samsonov will have pads with red and blue on them, so the Rangers will save money right off the bat.

That's exactly the point. Which is more impressive: being voted better than other n00bz by reporters who don't hockey, or being better at hockey than all but the top ten pros at your position? Take all the time you need.

edit: now that we're done measuring our belts, since the Rangers have three top-four RHD and only one starting goalie, wouldn't they be happier with two and two?

Washington doesn't have a lot to offer that makes sense for Johnny.
McMichael and Toronto's 1st to start.

I'm listening. How do the Caps trade up from their 1st (24th overall and owned by Washington) to Toronto's 1st (13th overall and owned by Carolina)? And is Calgary trading Johnny Hockey and thinking playoffs or are they looking for more prospects? Also, does Calgary think the average 13th overall pick, one year after the draft, is as good as McMichael? Because if so...

11th in 5-on-5 sv%. He's also 21st in 5-on-5 GSAA and 25th in all-situations sv%. Good numbers but hardly incredible for a backup goalie.

Since you seem to enjoy skewing numbers to sell your narrative, though, allow me to indulge. Fox is 10th among Dmen who played more than 900 minutes (an approximation of top-4 mins so that I'm comparing him to his peers) in 5-on-5 GF% (60%) and 3rd among Dmen in that same sample in relGF% (+13.72%) as a 21-22 year old rookie playing top-4 minutes on a team where defensive support from forwards seems optional at times.

Vrana and Gaudrea tied for 10th among left wings with 40 even strength points this year, but Gaudreau had twice as much ice time and has twice the cap hit. So, no thank you.

Connor McMichael at 2C and PP1 on a re-tooling, Monahan-less Flames might outscore Gaudreau at 3L PP2 on an all-in Caps. I halfway think McMichael could win the Calder Trophy, whenever a spot opens up for him. No rush. No need to trade. In a short season, there will be tons of injuries. But a one for one is about as high as the Caps need to go, in value. Then add some cap balancing, of course.

Well considering Fox is cheaper and better then both DeAngelo and Trouba maybe you can target one of those two to make it even. Fox is not available. Plus, as awesome as Samsonov is, the Rangers have no need for him. Shesty and Georgie for the next 5+ years is already set....

I tried taking Trouba as a cap dump a few weeks ago. Everybody said Trouba was your best defenseman.

Shesterkin looks potentially elite, through twelve games. But lots of terrible goalies can put together a ten game hot streak and then get worn out. Maybe Shesterkin is really the goods, but it's too soon to tell. Of goalies with 20 games played in the NHL Samsonov was 11th in save percentage. Georgiev was 31st. Lundqvist was 52nd. There are 31 teams. NYR could use a starting goalie.

The way I see the right side of NYR's defense, Trouba plays all the tough defensive roles and eats all the minutes, so that Deangelo can play easy minutes and put up tons of points, and Fox can play easy minutes.

Sorry I misread and for some reason I thought you had Toronto's first. Oversight on my end frown
CGY Trading Johnny for A+ Prospects (NHL ready) and at least 1 B+ roster player at a minimum with a 1st as well most likely which is why I dont think he fits in a trade to Washington as Vrana would likely be the only suitable target for NHL ready player.

You simply cannot compare 1 season (Vrana's best VS Johnny's worst) and say the 2 players are equal, that isn't how it works.

Vrana is 3 years younger and has had 3 "full" season in the NHL on a playoff contender putting up a career high 52pts this past season.
Johnny has had 6 full seasons in the NHL on a subpar team putting up career high 99pts and his LOWEST point season at 58pts which still puts him ahead of Vrana.

You simply cannot compare the two at all here, 31 out of 31 GM's take JG over Vrana.

The Capitals are not trading Vrana. At all.

Maybe for JG plus Monahan, one for two. But mostly, no thanks. Forget about that. Prospects who moved up into the NHL recently in WSH are Siegenthaler and Fehervary. Vrana is an established 2L who, in the ice time available at 2L behind Ovechkin, might get more points than JG.

I'll bet my left kidney Vrana never comes close to getting more points than JG for the next 7-8 years.
And you want to talk Johnny and Monahan for Vrana? Lmao jesus christ buddy you gotta get off the grass.
