I’m not opposed to spending money on goaltending, I’d be happy to have Markström. Being much stronger in net would be very beneficial to helping the team develop in front, and buy us more time to figure out a future #1 hopefully thru draft and development. Prefer the deal to be 5 years. Not sure he’d sign with Detroit but maybe if that’s the highest bid. Either way, Detroit being linked to Markström only adds pressure on Vancouver to make roster decisions, maybe that’s what Markström’s camp is trying to do.
Not interested in any of the other UFA signings, I think they are all unwise moves for Detroit. And RFA’s Timashov and Ehn need signed, they are likely to be playing for Red Wings in depth roles next season.
