Tampa is in need of a RHD and as of now can’t afford to resign Cirelli and Sergachev and I would assume Tampa would want a solid player and decent prospect rather than having a few picks from an offer sheet.

Realistically Tampa would get more out of Minnesota but In my opinion this trade works out well for both sides.

Protect 7 skaters, 3 defensemen and a goalie.
Suter, Spurgeon, Brodin, Cirelli, Fiala, Parise, Ek, Kunin, Sturm, Foligno, Kahkonen.

Ok first of all Cirelli will 100% cost less to resign than Dumba's 6M. So your entire premise is flawed right off the start. As for RD Sergachev can play both sides, Cernak is there, Bogo and Schenn will be cheap resigns, and Foote is ready to make the jump.

Ottawa isn’t going to be contending for 3-4 years when his contract is almost up and they aren’t going to have any cap problems over that span either. He was traded there so he could be given a bigger role which would hopefully help him bounce back to his NYR form, even if he doesn’t bounce back he would still be a good middle 6 forward for Ottawa.

Tampa has 5.5 mil in cap space, depending on the term Cirelli is going to cost at least 5 and then they have to resign Sergachev who isn’t going to be cheap either. Their need right now is defense and they get a good defender in Dumba. If they don’t trade one of Sergachev or Cirreli most likely a team is going to send an offer sheet to one of them and my guess is a team like Minnesota or Montreal (who are decent teams) would be the teams interested and if that’s the case Tampa is looking at a late first and a 3rd (depending on the salary in the offer). If they opt to not trade either them they are doing nothing to improve their team and are losing out on a lot of value.

I’ve heard Washington is letting go of Holtby and if that’s the case they are in need of a backup. Who’s the 3rd goalie you were thinking of?

5M? so Point got 6.75M x 3 years and had 40 more points than Cirelli, is better offensively and defensively than Cirelli and to and you think the difference between them is 1.75M? Sergachev gets less than McAvoy. Dumba still cost 6M which is more than both Cirelli and Sergachev. People can send offer sheets all they want, that doesn't mean anything unless a player signs it. Good luck with your "screw over Tampa" plan I bet every other GM is just dying to decline their offers so you can snag their RFA's

There are teams that would offer up 8M for Cirelli long term, if he’s on a bridge deal like point is then yes he would be offered 5M. Point is making more than Mackinnon, does that make Point the better player? No it doesn’t. The amount a player makes means nothing, it depends on the type of person theyare and if they are willing to take a pay cut. Cirelli is criminally underrated and he’s insane defensively, 5M is a steal for him. Sergachev is going to get offered anywhere from 4-6M depending on term, that’s still at the very least 70% of their cap space. They can’t resign both, they’re better off getting the most value by trading one of them.

I would bet money there is no team that would spend 8 freaking million on a 2nd line center in a flat cap. You are crazy if you honestly think that. Point and MacKinnon aren't on the same team they are completely unrelated, also when MacKinnon signed his deal he was a 50 point player. JBB signed Point he will be negotiating with Cirelli too, he can 100% use Point's contract as leverage. Tampa can't offer Sergachev a long term contract so he will get roughly a 4.5M deal.

It's actually really simple Move out Killorn and Paquette and you have 10M cap, sign some league min contracts and there you go.

Holtby is gone, and with Samsonov healthy he can hopefully be ready to play 50-55 games next year. Vanacek and Copley were both very good in Hershey al year and I think Vanacek is ready to be the backup. If not, Copley was a fine backup two years ago.

Plus Stalock is a just not a goalie I feel the Caps would really want...

If a team is desperate enough then yes they would hand out 8M. Personally 7 is the highest I would go for Cirreli long term. If Cirelli gets 4.5-5M and Sergachev get 4.5M then that only leaves them with a mil or less for a top 4 defensemen, 2 3rd pairing defensemen and a couple depth players. Yes they could fit them both in under the cap if they made some moves but they would still have a massive hole on defense, the Dumba trade makes sense because they are filling their needs on defense and their offense is covered because they have Coleman who can move up and play 2nd line center.

The Dumba trade makes no sense at all unless Minnesota retains a bunch or takes sizable cap back. Tampa is paying Cirelli 4-4.5 and Serg around 4.5 as Tampa rfa's take bridges. No team that Cirelli would really be interested in going to is offering 7+, not a chance. As already said, Tampa moves out Killorn and Paquette first, and after replacing them with close to min contracts, that leaves Tampa with approx 10 million. There's Cirelli and Serg's bridge deals. They then move on from Coburn and Johnson either through trade(most likely), or if necessary, buyout or waivers. This will save Tampa another 6.1-6.7, which gives them more than enough to sign Cernak and 3 more cheap depth guys. Cernak isn't getting more than 2.5 if he wants to stay in Tampa, and Bogo/Schenn should be just over 2 million on short term deals. Tampa shouldn't have much of an issue running 22 to start next year.
    Palat-Point-Kuch(21.55)
    Gourde-Cirelli-Stamkos(17.9)
    Goodrow-Barre-Boulet-Coleman(3.62)
    Verhaeghe-Stephens-Maroon(2.6)
    Volkov/Joseph as the 13th(.7)
    Hedman-Bogo(9.275)
    McD-Cernak(9.25)
    Serg-Foote(5.425)
Rutta/Schenn/Gaunce as depth(.7)Not Rutta at .7 but he's likely gone anyway
    Vasi(9.5)
    McE(1.3)
My lineup brings a 22 player roster within 400k of making cap. I'm pretty sure Brisebois will make it work fine. Dumba is a fine player but not needed for Tampa unless Minnesota retains more than they want or Tampa has other trades lined up to make it work.
