Description
Capitalize on Demko a little, Ottawa looking for a Goalie to go with their team and work with Nilsson this year. We through on Eriksson and 4th and get their struggling goalie prospect a 2nd, doesnt matter what one, in fact I would do this trade with no picks....

Details on Baertschi pretty clear, Trade if you can thou but I think he wants to play.

Nashville in need of middle 6 winger help and Pearson can help, Stecher, love him but a victim of the cap, cant pay him and Tanev. Fabbro is younger and cost controlled.

2021-22

No HRR will lower salaries....
Pettersson = $10.5 Comp - Eichel
MacEwen = $1.5
Virtanen & Leivo, decisions to be made as cheaper options are availble to play the 2nd/3rd line winger roles in Podkolzin and Hoglander on ELC.

Hughes - $8.5 Comp - Chabot
Fabbro/Juolevi - @$2 each - lack of NHL games
Edler - Senoir discount around $2.5 or use Rathbone on a ELC

$26-30 Million needed in capspace to sign the above.

Goodbye Sutter & Benn - Buying out Roussel or Beagle is manageble as concerns of capspace start to elevate after 2022.

ONLY question not addressed is Markstroms back up, Organizational depth is not ready until 2023 at least. standard 3 plus years in the AHL the Canucks like to do.

    NSH doesn't consider this. Aside from Fabbro being basically untouchable for them, they're not going to use what cap space they have on middle of the lineup filler.

    You’re going to capitalize on a three game sample size? What about his subpar regular season? Or is that thrown out because recency bias?

    true - was more looking for a RD with some NHL games with at least 1 year left on his ELC. there is a market for Pearson, his season will prove that..

    capitalizing also on his pedigree and what he is capable of, Ottawa, Detroit, etc would want a chance at demko regardless of playoff/regular season performances. they will pay for him alone, wouldn't cost Vancouver a pick if Eriksson is included

    Considering many of your fellow Vancouver fans said it would cost Demko + 2nd to overload Eriksson, I’d disagree. He is 6M x 2 years which costs to take on and this a moot point because his NTC. Three games doesn’t change that. If he had Schneider numbers pretrade that’s a different story.

    That's too much for Ottawa to give up for Demko imo. He was breathtaking in those playoff games, but he was also below average in the regular season.

    Also Ottawa isn't looking for a goalie in all likelihood. The plan since they extended Nilsson was to run a tandem with Hogberg this year.

    There is not a chance in hell Ottawa gives up Gustavsson and a 2nd in a deal where they acquire Loui. It was Demko+a pick to unload Eriksson a week and a half ago, 3 good games doesn’t change that

    good points man, stupidity I didn't even see Eriksson NTC, no matter thou, I doubt he would refuse a trade.

    But I am overvaluing Demko NHL stats, I didn't realize how little he has played or how much Schneider did before his move ...

    nonetheless thou, Schneider was a high 1st, Demko would be at least one of Ottawa's 2nds

    Lol @ that Loui trade.

    Imagine thinking you can dump 12M in cap, and get a pick and a goalie coming back

    OTT declines

    A goalie about to return to Sweden due mismanagement of assets by Ottawa/Pittsburgh.

    This would be further mismanagement. Buying Demko now would be buying high and selling low on Gus.

    You want the 33OA while dumping 12M in cap. If you want the 33OA, that 4th has to be 2021 1st

    Then use Lehner to Buffalo as a comp who was younger and had much better track record and got a 20 something pick with no cap dump attached. This is horrible value for any team taking on Eriksson.

    IMO, it's a mistake to trade away Demko in the offseason. Sign Marky to term and dollars that he wants but don't include NMC or NTC. Give Demko more starts in the 20-21 season and see how they both fare. Trade one of them before the trade deadline. As much as how bloated Eriksson's contract is, we can make it work for next year.
