Definitely more than that offer. You're starting with Suzuki and adding or Kotkaniemi and adding. Winnipeg had no reason to move him so it would need to fill holes for the Jets.

Suzuki and a 2nd

Small sample size for Suzuki. Laine was having a really good year at the stoppage. I'd say Suzuki and a 2nd is the lower end of his value.

His contract is pretty fair given the entire scope of things.

Not saying above is fair, but danault is solving the same problems as Suzuki and kotkaniem. The only difference is age and potential

Not really. Danault is a low end 2C, high end 3C that is great defensively but not great offensively.

Brian Little has averaged 51 points per season, 52 points when he was 27 and is also great defensively and most jet fans consider him a terrible option at 2C.

Danault has only averaged 42 points per season and paced for 54 this year getting top line, or 1B center minutes. So, other than age isn't much of an improvement if any on Little. Plus he's a rental.

So, since the Jets are giving up youth and potential and a player with the 6th highest goal totals before age 23, I would think they want youth and potential in return.

Not saying he’s better than mackinon obviously but last year he had more ev assists and finished 7 in selke. He just doesn’t rack up pp points. But to say low end 2c is stupid. I understand you want youth for youth but to say danault doesn’t fill a need is stupid

Just because you don't like the facts doesn't make them stupid. He is an excellent 3C, but doesn't score enough to be a 2C. Scoring on the PP is part of that.

In fact, he's a 3C on Montreal, having been passed by two rookies.

He can pass as a 2C, but as I said Jet fans complained that Little didn't score enough, imagine how much they'd complain with a 2C that scored even less.

So how you produce at the most important time of the game doesn’t matter? Also I’ve talked to jets fans on here who love the idea of getting danault. A 50 point centre who is very good defensively and puts up most of his points 5v5 and wins faceoffs is all you can ask from a 2c. Now yes he could score more if he was better on the pp, but he would also get zero time on the pp with the jets. Danault is a very good 2c. Also got passed on because the team was struggling a little and the coach changed the lines.

I'm not saying that I or Winnipeg wouldn't want Danault. I'm just saying that he isn't an appropriate starting piece for Laine.

In a reasonable deal, sure Winnipeg would be interested.

I agree. As I said above not saying it’s fair value but don’t say he doesn’t fill a need. A good 2-way faceoffs winning centre to play behind scheifele

l didn't say one way or the other that he did or didn't fill a need. You asked if Danault could be used in lieu of Suzuki or Kotkaniemi. I said no and gave you an explanation of why. That's all. So it sounds like we agree then. Thanks for the conversation.

You said he didn’t fill a hole. I said he fills the same hole as Suzuki or kotkaniemi only difference is potential and age. I also said not fair value but danault fills the same need

Oh, I see what you're saying. I meant it as since we would be filling the hole at center by creating a hole on the wing, it didn't fill our top 6 hole, it just moved it.
