Honestly, its mainly because I want Askarov and there is a slight chance hes there at 14, but no chance hes there at 20

NJD should be TRADING DOWN with their VAN and ARI picks. Back half of first round is nowhere near the value they can obtain in actual NHL players since they have cap room.

I don't see them moving that 1st rounder to get rid of Turris. The prospect pool is so thin already, and Poile has emphasized the team's need to get younger. We need to add a future top talent with that pick.

Yeah if we choose Askarov I would assume all of our Goalies are available

cause i have been thinking toronto should trade for either Pyotr Kochetkov or Eetu Makiniemi as both could become goalies of the future for us.

Id assume Kochetkov has decent value at the moment, because he was highly regarded in the draft, As for Makiniemi I have no idea what his value would be

Unfortunately that’s the Devils’ Colby Sissons not Predators’ Colton Sissons, so no solid 3C. I saw the 6 spots difference as worth Russel’s $4M, an early 4th, and a flier.

In this scenario, the Devils would hopefully have their ear to the ground and take Askarov with their newly acquired 12th pick and hope Quinn is still on the board at 14 where they make the above Edmonton trade up.

God I hope Preds don’t take that deal. Won’t be easy getting rid of Turris, but I hope it doesn’t cost us our first and bring in a 29y/o winger.

if we just moved the first without getting a good player, then no we wouldn't... we'd just buy Turris out. I agree with Poile about needing to get younger though. I am nervous that with the near certainty of losing Smith and Granlund we're going to be lacking in goal scoring.
