Getting this thing to publish with the point of the armchair is impossible. The Johnsson and Kerfoot trades are to trade them to a team that's going to be looking to fill cap dump roster spots. The entire Detroit trade is just trading these players for what assets you can get. The destination doesn't matter. Teams will be looking for assets like that for cap value. All of those deals the team doesn't really matter but for Johnsson and Kerfoot I spent time looking for teams that could move contracts for cap space those players could do a good job replacing yet free up cap.
Don't bother Leaving Leafs can't sign cause Leafs or players hate playing big market comments. I don't care and it's not helpful.

It's grand when people choose not to read and "bahhhh pick trade sucks nobody every trades picks I hate pick trade comments." It was just trading for value trades. Return and team don't matter.

It's a trade for asset trade. It's not about your favourite player. It's about who's needed on the roster and who isn't. Sandin could do a lot better somewhere else and there's no roster spot for him.

It’s grand when you don’t put a trade description and just throw random picks in the deal for common players traded from Toronto to Detroit. It’s also actually pointless to do that in an ACGM unless acquiring a player back as you can IR/LTIR/or delete the player or better yet do research on what teams would want them.

It's in the team explanation which there's no point in you bothering to click on it if you don't read. Also since this thing is so damn picky I put a comment as well. You guys are just so interested in ****ting on everything you can't wait to ****post.

Sandin isn’t close to my favourite player there bud. Sandin has potential to be a top 2 d man. that’s not something you trade before giving him a chance. and there is a roster spot for him, when he’s ready. he needs one more more in the ahl to learn how to play better defense.

The fact you had to amend the team and trade explanation is one of my issues. I’d rather not be critical of ACGMs but the quantity of troll and sloppy ACGMs is staggering. My point is still valid even after your amendment(s) to this thread. Why would someone spend draft capitol on a dime a dozen player that can be found in FA? Why would Haula play for 700k? He’d be making like 250k (~50% taxes, 20% escrow, agent fees, etc)

In the end, it doesn't matter for the armchair. Trade, minors, he's just not roster anyway. I'm not so sure he ends up a major player but that's just opinion based for now. Gotta wait and see. Personally I think Dubas is stocking picks for a move he's already talked to a team about. I think he's looking for trade assets and cap space. Something big is coming.

Sandin is a top 10-15 already-drafted prospect in the NHL. Top 5 defensive prospect

I didn't amend the trade explanation. Taxes on pro athlete's who live in another country don't work how you think they do. They pay based on how much time they spend in the country working. It's brutally complicated but it doesn't work out how you think it does. Also as a player when you play in Toronto endorsements are another ball game and they aren't taxed in the same way since players set up a corporation and their endorsements are paid to the business. Lots of players have come to Toronto and taken a team-friendly deal because there are many benefits. This season isn't going how you think it is where players are getting increases and everything is the same as it always was as well. Teams are going to be hardcore dumping contracts. low-cost contracts will be king and resigning will be difficult.

Here’s a decent calculator and I’m oddly fond of taxes which is why I got my CPA while auditing financial statements for Fortune 500 companies.

https://gavingroup.ca/nhl-tax-calculator/

Taxes are based on the players schedule since taxes are based on where they were earned. Since they play 50% of their home games in Toronto that accounts for half and the other half is based on their road games.

This is an interesting resource. thanks for sharing.

I do believe Toronto found a loop hole with bonuses for non-Canadian players as well. I believe tax paid on signing bonuses is non-existant if your principle residence is in the US (not sure about Europe).

That calculator still accounts for every game as a home game. Which pretty much makes it useless.
