Description

The Rangers being active in the trade market to make the team younger and build around Alexis Lafreniere. They convince Marc Staal to waive his NMC and offload his contract even though it will cost a 1st round pick. In doing so though, they manage to be active in the trade market as well as re-sign Jesper Fast.

I wouldn't trade any single one of those assets for Strome. There is a reason he's traded in every NYR ACGM. It's not because he's too good to play for them...

We’re not wasting a 1st to move Staal. That is awful asset management. Toronto wouldn’t do the Nylander trade so there’s the cap room for Staal and saves our pick.
