god no. the only D who has to move is JJ and Rutherford should be fired if he doesn't. Rutherford should've retired at the end of the 2017 season when his contract was up. he would've went down as a legend in pit. now he is just souring his legacy

letang had a very good year despite being paired with JJ for 44.8% of his even strength minutes. pens would be foolish to move letang. if they moved letang, they may as well trade Malkin, Zucker, Rust, etc.. as well because it would be signalling you are blowing things up. you dont trade a #1D on a good contract when you're still trying to contend

I don't think they buy him out. I doubt they spend up to the cap to start the year plus it only saves a little over 2 million against the cap and they are adding 3 years of an extra million of his contract against the cap. I think they bury his contract in the minors for a year if they can't move it and then buy him out after the year
