This doesn't make any sense for so much reasons...
1. Price would never waive for DET
2. DET are not a Carey Price away from contention, his venue would be completely useless since they are at least 3 to 5 years away from being a serious playoff teams (price would be 36 or so by that time. Giving up assets for him is useless even if what you offered is very very minimal.
3. While I agree that he doesn't old much value because of his age and contract, he's still an elite goaltender, he just had a very poor defensive team in front of him. So MTL should just hang on to him since they have a lot of fresh blood coming in soon and can compete in a near near future. Yes is contract is terrible but he doesn't put us in a bad spot right now and he's more part of the solution than the problem.
4. GMs was also making a point, Bergevin or his replacement see or will see him as an elite goaltender and would never trade him for that kind of return but nobody would give much to acquire him either.
Conclusion, this is completely unrealistic and unnecessary for both teams.
