If Fleury gets bought out, he should sign with PIT for the league minimum, cuz that’s what he’s worth at this point. He stinks.

Vegas isn't buying out Fleury, He has some value. Just his NTC hurts his value because he'll only waive for a contending team. And they can't afford his 2x7 left on his deal.

If the Flames believe Murray is a better long term option than Rittich, I can't see them saying no to that deal.

So an article written by an average nobody is suppose to mean something?

JFresh is one of the most respected analysts in hockey currently. He supports his arguments with factual evidence. If you took time to read the article, you’ll see that Fleury is extremely prone to allowing soft goals. Goals saved above expected determines the quality of each shot a goalie faces & this season, he has given up 25 more than he should. That is brutal & a big reason to why he’s being replaced by Lehner.

Vegas isn't buying out Flower this year. Not happening.

And the Leafs fan is just salty because if they had MAF they might have won a playoff round some time in the last decade and a half.

You'd trade Rusty for a guy with a broken back?

But what would JFresh trade for Marner... that's the question...

I did not read the blog post either, but skimming real quick I fully justify my not reading the blog post because JFresh infers that Pittsburgh fielded good defense in front of Fleury. All one has to do is get their nose out of nearly useless advanced stats and watch some games to know that that is a 100% trash position.

Just for discussion on the topic of buying out Fleury...
Buyout would cost Vegas $8,333,333 in actual money
    $2,583,333, $3,083,333, $2,083,333, $2,083,333 cap hits.

Trading while retaining 50% for cost $6,250,000 actual money
    $3,500,000, $3,500,000, $0, $0 cap.

Retaining 50% would save them $2,083,333 cash
    $916,667, $416,667, -$2,083,333, -$2,083,333 cap cost

If Vegas would seriously consider buying out Fleury, I think that it would be considerable better for them to trade him with 50% retention. the cap hit would be less than $1M then less than $500K more for the first two years, but then free of the $2.1M for the next two. That's huge. I am sure that they prefer the 50% retention route.

Oilers would definitely look at this deal. Depending on Nicks health this could be a step forward.

I’m a lot more in favour of moving an expiring contract from an area of depth to an area could use an extra body. I don’t think it would be wise to pay a team to take russell contract then pay a team for a 3c with term. I don’t like it but can accept the gamble doesn’t come with extra term or dollars. Use it as a band aid solution while allowing jones additional ice time earned. Mcloed is a guy I don’t think they will want to block by adding term. If sheahan isn’t resigned I suspect it’s Mcloed coming in. I think this is the best option of trying to dump Russell’s contract and add a c. He’s got a no trade the teams being limited to won’t be as easy as gets suggested. Let contracts expire and explore options then.

Don’t get me wrong I love rusty and would strongly consider resigning afterwards kinda same situation as ganger. It’s a deal I don’t like but see it as better than other current options also very fair to Pittsburg kinda sick of giving them d.

I understand where you're coming from, but there's a non-zero chance that Bjugstad will never play hockey again. So really you're trading a useful player for nothing at all... and you're spending nearly $4M real money for that privilege. Doesn't make a lick of sense.

Obviously trade would depend on medical evaluation. If he isn’t cleared to play then not happening. I don’t know his medical condition well enough to say he can be cleared or not.
