Let's see that Montreal trade.
First rounders are a wash because without Danault the team most likely still sucks next year,
Remove a 2nd on each side,
That leaves you with Danault, Mete and a 2nd for Montour.

That makes sense? A team who already has Weber and Petry on the right side and in a retool process.

Like all of those deals, but I doubt Habs move Danault unless they are getting a severe overpay back.

Take Mete and all the picks out the Habs side of the trade and you have a deal

To be honest I'm rather confused as to who has more value, Danault or Domi?

Statistically speaking Danault is one of the best even strength centers in the game. He plays against top quality players every shift, dominates zone times, and generates a high rate of scoring chances.

So ya, to get him away from MTL would likely be a high pick, a roster player and a second. Which is what this trade would be if you took Mete and all our picks out of the trade

So you're telling me your 40 point center with 1 year on his contract is worth a more than capable young defender, a top 10 pick in a loaded draft and 2nd round pick.

Makes sense to me that couldn't possibly be bias to your own team

Not biased when you look at advanced stats and see how good he actually is. Not that great on the PP but that's about his only flaw. When it comes to two way centers he has been at the top of the league over the past 2 seasons, got Selke votes last year and even more consideration this year.

Add in the facts that his next contract is likely a long term deal around 6 million, that he is entering his prime and ya that would be the price to get him out of MTL
