Tampa declines, as they have little interest in giving up their very good 2C for a lottery ticket, maybe 3rd pairing defenseman and a player that hasn't lived up to his billing(and the type of player Tampa already has several of for their bottom 6). None of these pieces help a team focused on winning now really improve, so it's an easy no from Tampa. The only way Tampa listens on this trade is if the 1st isn't lotto protected or if a high quality young player/prospect is the center piece(so basically Jokiharju or Cozens). Tampa would be looking for a return that helps them right away next year, and this isn't it.
