Description
Twenty-fifth of a series ending on June 30. Mainly doing these to get a better understanding of teams I’m not a “fan” of per say.

Any trade I make will also show up for the other team when I get to that team.

Don’t get mad at me for the lines for the whole series really since I’ll be using the lines before the stoppage and will factor in injured players where I see fit...though do feel free to make suggestions on the lines.

St. Louis Blues:
First one is a cap dump. The ducks get a solid backup that they can flip for picks at the tdl and steen who they buyout. They also get a 2nd. Stolarz comes the other way to balance contracts and refill a hole in goalie depth chart for St. Louis.

The 2nd one is also a minor cap dump

Ducks accept! Allen could serve as our backup with Miller probably retiring and Steen can score 60 goals with Backes!!!!!

This would have been an easy accept from Montreal earlier this year but not sure if it would be a priority now, Gunnerson is good but we have enough 3-7 Dmen already and do not really need another one we need a true top 2 dman.

That's what you want when you've had one of the worst season in the league. A 2nd two drafts from now, spend a few million for a guy not to play for you and a back up goalie. Use 7 mil of your ~11 mil in available cap space so StL can re-sign Pietrangelo and Dunn.

Stolarz would have to pass thru waivers. Doesn't really help StL....

You really think there's a GM dumb enough to take on 10M$ of cap for a bottom 6 forward and backup goaltender at the cost of a 2nd rounder two years away from now and to top it off you're getting a good AHL backup in return?!
Marleau cost a 1st rounder,
Mason cost Armia, a 4th and a 7th,
Backes cost a 1st and a prospect for a middle six forward coming back,

You're far from these kind of values, yes your players are still worthy of playing but both of them should be paid about 50-65% less than what they're actual given.

First of all, not a stl fan. Second, I assumed Allen had value. Though if that’s not the case then for sure it should be a 1st instead of a 2nd.

Sorry for being abrupt gent! Allen holds little value (Somewhere like a mid/late 4th rounder?) and Steen other than for his veteran presence holds nothing. Taking this into account and their 10M$ one year cap hit I don't see any team taking both of them for anything short than a first (At least) but it's a website where anyone can think differently, again sorry! smile

Lol I didn’t take you to be abrupt and I’m sorry if I came across as passive aggressive, didn’t mean it 😂. I should probably use more punctuation 😂.

Steen would be bought out, but I thought Allen had more value. Though now looking back, a 4th is probably accurate.

So yeah the 2021 1st is likely going to Anaheim.

Honestly supposed that when I posted this from the Anaheim side, Anaheim fans loved it. In fact, I’m pretty sure I had a 1st in there and their fans said to make it a 2nd so there’s that 😂

oh this is CLEEEEEAAAN. AS a Blues fan I would adore this.
I'm not sure the Ducks take that with Gibson on their roster but if they do that would be ideal.. more likely I see either Vancouver taking on Allen or Detroit (though a Vancouver fan did give me push back claiming they are shedding cap which I frankly do not understand, and either one could chase Lehner or Holtby) Allen is having a great year and may have salvaged some of his value.

Steen is a no value guy for a team eating cap for a pick unless a young talented team like the Devils wants him for "leadership" and defense, and I'd bet the Ducks would do that now that you bring it up though it would also probably take a prospect swap. The Bues won't dump Kostin and won't dump a freshly drafted Alexandrov so Laferriere or Toropchenko or Evna Ftizpatrick would have to go the other way depending on the Ducks prospect needs.

Agree on a depth signing like Gibbons. Walker probably makes his way onto the roster but that's probably just to replace whomever Seattle takes.

my only question is who do you think Seattle takes? Maybe Blais? Or Barbashev?

Also lines actually look spot on for forwards and close for D but Dunn plays on the 3rd line, not that he's bad, just that Parayko does better with stay at home LD, he was masterful with Bouwmeester through the run and early part of this year before the heart attack and has looked just as good with Scandella since the trade
so
Faulk-Pietrangelo
Scandella-Parayko
Dunn-Bortuzzo
and any game that Mikkola has to play in assuming it's not Faulk who is hurt/resting would mean Faulk moves down to pair with Dunn

I think if Seattle is given the choice between blais and barbashev, it’s blais. The 2nd would probably have to be a 1st in the steen trade as well.
