Pretty sure St-Louis wouldn't do that trade. Why would they trade one of their best defensemen?

To retain their best defenseman in petro. IDK, i asked for Bortuzzo in another ACGM and it seemed like they would part ways with a more expensive Dman like Parayko

St Louis laugh at the offer for Colton Parayko, And you honestly giving up a 3rd+4th round pick for Nolan Patrick the guy has migraine issues and may never play again. Seems like a risky venture.

some Blues fans thought this would be fair to alleviate cap
and i think Patrick's gonna be fine

I think there's better ways to alleviate cap then move your 2nd best Dman, Pretty sure they could buy out Steen and move Bozak and Allen to be able to resign Alex Pietrangelo. Just think there could be a better offer for Parayko then LeBanc and picks. But that's just my personal feeling. And you're probably right on Patrick time will tell i guess.

I find this anecdote to be extraordinarily dubious. That's me being overly polite. Blues laugh and hang up. Obviously.

I don't think the Flyers would want to give up Patrick for that cheap. The dude has had injury issues, but he will be elite, is still very young and was a 2nd overall pick.

That’s not really what I meant when I asked to keep Bortz but uh, we’re more than willing to send ya Faulk!

Yeah, when they were saying we can't keep Pietrangelo/Parayko/Faulk on the right side it was a nice way of saying if the Sharks can get Faulk to wave his NTC I'm sure we can work something out on the trade front

Faulk, Bortuzzo, or Parayko non-withstanding, I do agree that the sharks should pursue another defenseman in some capacity, and probably a right shot guy. They won't be able to move some of their higher salary defenseman, but Burns has experience as forward and is better offensively anyway, they should move him to bolster your RW (especially if Labanc is your big trade chip) and then trade for another defenseman and go Karlsson-somebody-Merkley on the right. But the Sharks aren't my primary team so maybe there's something I'm missing there.

I think the sharks should focus mainly on the forward group. trying to sign Toffoli for 5.5-6 mil and trading for someone like Marcus Johansson are realistic options which would help them balance the top 6 and add players who can create chances of the rush. I'd move Labanc for prospects or picks and add two depth players like Fast and Johan Larrson who can play good middle-six roles.
As for goaltending, I think giving jones another shot is worth it. No one is trading for his contract and he seems to be using the time off to recover and rest while working with Nabakov and Adam Francilia which should hopefully reflect in some type of improvement next year. In all focusing on making one major UFA add, a reasonable trade, and keeping it simple is probably the best route for this team. They're not as bad as they showed this year just seemed like injuries and fatigue over the last 4 years caught up
