As far as the Oilers trade go, Dermott would be on our AHL team and by next year he would be on our ECHL team

I don't understand the Vancouver trade. Barrie is an UFA at the end of the season (when ever that is) and we are past the TDL. Why would Vancouver trade a 2nd and a conditional 4th to have a few extra days to sign him. Vancouver doesn't need him (and if they did, nobody would do that deal)

Dermotts way better then Benning and in 1-2 years Larsson, even though they have very different styles.

Dermott is left d, just because he played right d for a few months, does not make him a perfect RD. No he is not better than Benning, in fact Benning was top 18 D in the NHL for the last 3 years stats wise. Bear in mind he plays mostly 3rd pair. But look at the Left side of the Oilers. Klefbomb, Nurse, Jones> Dermott. No look at AHL team. Brodin, Niemelainen, Samorukov are going to need lots of Ice-time to develop. So that already puts dermott on 4th pair of ahl team. Right side we have Larsson, Bear, and Benning > Dermott. Now go to AHL right side. Bouchard and Kesselring who also will need ice time to develop, so back to 3rd pair on RD on the farm. It is never as simple as it seems.

During the last three seasons at 5v5, Benning has ranked 18th among NHL defenceman with over 2300 minutes played in goals for percentage with a 54.87 — a far cry from the next ranked Oilers D in Darnell Nurse, who ranks 75th with a GF% of 49.43.

The Columbus trade is awful for Columbus. If Savard doesn’t resign its Anderson and A full season of Savard for Kerfoot... yeah not even close. Anderson gets us a 2nd and Savard as a rental gets us a 2nd at least. Also we have no use for Kerfoot as we don’t need a 3rd 3rd line center.
