i dont see mayfield being an option. I dont think hes very good and he definitely isnt a keefe/dubas guy

I mean thats just an example, but you're gonna have to pay too much to get him and be disappointed with what you get. The conversation will start with kapanen+, which isn't worth it when there are viable options like cernak, weever, demelo, etc. who will be just as effective for our purposes and won't cost as much

hes very good defensively, a good skater and very good puck mover. hes not very good offensively but the leafs dont need him to be. hes young and cost controlled on a very good contract. hes gotten great results on terrible ducks teams.

Hes what people though Colin Miller was before they found out hes only a 3rd pairing defenseman. severson is legitimately good

A DFD who's been average at best defensively for 3 years, and while he was slightly better this year, he wasn't exactly lighting the world on fire defensively (even adjusted for being on the tire fire of a defence that NJ threw out)



He's not very good defenseively tho, for the past 3 years he's been average, and this past year he was a bit above average defensively (even adjusted for TM) he's on a relatively fair contract, does not play for the ducks, nor has had great results (sure you aren't talking about Manson...?) And Colin Miller was comparable at worst to Severson this year...
