Honestly to see the Jackets need for Bozak. Wenneberg produces similar numbers at the 3C, so I don't see a fit. The Jackets can certainly upgrade a few positions up front, but Bozak for Foligno seems more lateral, even a downgrade.

The Barbashev for Dzingel deal is interesting. Upgrades the Canes 4C, and I think your buying low. Worst case it's another lateral move, but I believe Dzingel bounces back...... I suspect the Canes do too.

I am surprised you didn't use Allen as trade bait though. There could be cheaper UFA tenders on the market that can play 30 games, where there are teams that could use Allen for 1 year to bridge themsleves - like Ottawa or Chicago. Or offer insurance on their current situation like New Jersey.

Diving deeper, Bozak and Wennberg produced about the same last year and both are a 3rd line centers, not to mention having Jenner as a younger and cheaper 3rd line center then Bozak. Bozak is 34 and has 2 years left on his contract. Folingo has a full NMC and NTC, is younger then Bozak and only has 1 year left above 5 mil.

I’m sorry but I don’t really see any benefit for Columbus in that trade. We don’t just need centers, we need a solid 2nd line center and Bozak just isn’t that anymore.
