If he's looking for a big payday, I could absolutely see him coming home. but if he wants to stay and win in Boston for say 6 x 6.5 then that's his choice. Would love for him to come home if he's looking for a big payout.

I'd bet this is a hard choice for Krug. If detroit were good then I would 100% bet on him going home.

However, do you sacrifice the benefit of being on a great team during your prime to go home? I really cannot see detroit being a contender for at least 3 seasons and imo they'll once again be a basement team for the next two. But I guess you could argue boston might be middling team in a few years depending on how Marchand/Berg/Krejci/Rask age.

The dude is gifted offensively but he is a lost sock in his own zone. No way he gets 8.5 million from anyone nevermind detroit. I wouldn't give him more than 7 million and not more than 5 years. He's a good dude but not someone you build the blue line around

Since he said he'd give Boston a discount to stay, I think it's going to take more than money to get him out of Boston. Like Boston winning the cup and then not wanting to give him a 6 to 7 year contract and deciding to bring up someone like Vaak instead. Which made sense before COIVID 19 halted the season now I have no idea.

You're a leafs fan...& your team can't do it as of now ..wings can & shouldn't go that high unless it's shorter term ..stevie likely will keep his cap space maximized til we're contenders again
