Quoting: Suzuki_Cup
I don't think that Barzal is the right target. He's a center, and in two-three years, we won't need him, since we will have Suzuki, Danault, Kotkaniemi, Poehling and Evans. 4 1st rounder is a lot for a guy who wil force us to move one of Danault or Suzuki. Plus, Lamoriello already said that he would fin a way to match any offer sheet on Barzal.
For me, if we do an offer sheet, I would target someone like Sergachev, which will be hard for the lightning to keep, since they have also to sign Cirelli, Shattenkirk, Zach Bogosian... with around 5-10 millions only available.
Detroit might alos be stuck behind their cap, so MAtha or Fabbri may be a great choice.
I like Kevin Labanc a lot in San Jose, and they will have to be crative to retain him.
I want them to go after Sergachev, not sure how it would work. Due to taxes, MTL would be in tough to create a successful offersheet. For example, a $6.341M offersheet from MTL would only cost TB $4.68M when we factor in taxes. If I'm Sergachev's agent, I wouldn't be pushing my client to accept an offersheet from MTL.
While MTL may not be a realistic option to win an offersheet battle, other teams still are so this might make Sergachev available through a trade.
Tampa would want a lot no doubt, for me, Romanov, KK, Suzuki, Caufield and Primeau are not options. I would trade Mete, Poehling, + though
