Even if we buyout Nielsen we still have about $40 million with 12 players signed and only Bertuzzi and Mantha get big money the rest are meh. Weren't dealing Fabrri to get rid of Abdelkader that's laughable. Detroit doesn't need a compliance buyout we can just bury both Abdelkader and Nielsen if needed.

Ever heard of the kid DeBrincat 5'7" and similar player like Robertson. Zuccarello ( an inch shorter than what you say will get crushed in the league) is pretty good. Also Yamamoto (5'8") who everyone thought would get crushed is a PPG player. Brendan Gallagher (5'9") is the kid doing the crushing

freddie is gone when that contract is up. He will be 31 and if we sign him 8 years he may start to slow down or his stats will weaken. toronto should go after a KHL goalie (Bilyov or Reideborn, etc) or if they want to go big go after Binnington, younger, has more potential, and better for the long run
