This is not a good trade for the Leafs and I hate the Leafs.

I believe Marner has more value than Pesce who would be coming off major shoulder surgery. The problem with Marner is his salary and many teams wouldn't be able to afford him so there is that also.

Cant see the Canes moving both of them in the same trade. If anything it would be Pesce +prospects and picks for Marner, but even still, would be hard to get Pesce away from Carolina.

You're missing the other first line winger that's paired with him coming to TOR

Carolina laugh you away. A top pairing shutdown RHD and a top line winger on a STEAL of a contract for someone making WAY too much, and that's going to expire at the same time as Aho? Big pass. Both Canes contracts are insanely good, Marner's is insanely bad. HARD pass.

Yeah I'm kind of in the CAR turns this down really quick.
Lot of over valuing Marner here. Teräväinen is a really solid player and he's making 1/2 of what Marner is. I don't see the incentive for CAR to make that swap.
