Description

I know people are gonna scream at me about Labanc and Vancouver trade.

Labanc: he did it once, he could do it again. This deal was a prove it deal. He could have without a doubt held out for 4-5ish and easily got it. He wanted to prove himself and help the team out. This season he hasn’t been as good. Still a fine player but not 5 million dollar player. He is a RFA which means we hold some negotiation power and if we pitch hey we went out and got things to bolster I feel like that could be enough.

Vancouver Trade: unless benning can get out of one of those contracts and with having to sign there golden boy to a lot of money virtanen could be the odd man out. Maybe a little bit more of a return but they do get a pick in the 30s and a 3rd liner.

No way Toronto takes that

They are both the same age, but Kapanen has averaged over half a ppg while Gambrell is averaging about 1/5 a ppg. Kapanen is also on a great contract for 2 more seasons.

I haven't actually done the math, because we have no idea how many games actually remain in this truncated season, but I think that if Colorado lost all of their remaining regular-season games, their pick still wouldn't drop into the 30's. I think it's more likely to be in the 50's.
