Description
These deals take place in day 2 of the draft after they all failed to make it work on day 1.
Kovalchuk wll be signed a week later to play 2nd line LW with Danault-Armia(for purpose of keeping lines straight i created a Kovalchuk character)

The idea of this 3 way is to create a Scenario where WPG ends up with Eichel a Center they could surely use going forward if any of their fans on this site are to be believed its their #1 priority .

MTL will end up with Laine in the mix and as such will pay most of the cost.
However Eichel's a top Center in the NHL and as amazing as Laine is a #1 C>#1 Winger 99.99% of the time unless his names Ovechkin its the rule .

BUF will walk away with a haul that makes the Duchene trade look small by comparison .

Eichel in 353 games has 136 goals and 336 points to date
Laine in 303 games has 137 goals and 245 points to date

Both Great players but its Clear the edge goes to Eichel
MTL currently is fine with its Centers and although Jack would have been great
MTL currently has enough Depth to feel comfortable in Building Danault up as we have during the rebuild while our youth Centers develop behind him like Domi did bring us to a point where his Value has worth after 116 points in 151 games at Center after playing wing his entire career since Junior .Now we have Suzuki and KK to develop behind him

i know its not a #1 Center but we dont run a system around 1 Center and never did even when we had it in Koivu ... we're a 3-4 line team based on depth (its how we won all our cups in the 1970's if you look at the NHL's top scorer's every year we wont the cup there was a lot of teams more teams with dominant players that outscored us but none outplayed us as a team )

Laine by himself isnt it so WPG fans got the choice between:
1st in 2020 and Stanley
2nd in 2021 and Vesalainen
or Roslovic and a 3rd in 2022 (conditional becomes a 1st in 2022 if Laine doesnt re-sign longterm)

After all is said and Done MTL has 8.84m cap before the cap increase to sign Free Agents or Offersheet someone Matt Murray and Josh Anderson to increase our depth. Both would either make it or break it here as Tatar , Domi , Danault , Armia ,Petry,Byron and many more can attest that with the pressure of MTL's fandom create's diamonds as all these players were sold on the low end of their value or given away like Byron .

Anderson's style is an upgrade on our 4th line that's now got some balance to it
perfect guys to create space and grow with Poehling into a 3rd line spot giving both
winger after lack luster years vs expectations , a chance to rebound beside a future regular in RP

Murray played his best hockey behind a great goalie in limited games
He's a Tandem Goalie but as seen thus far he's the Back up the Tandem not the Starter .
MTL could offer 4m and i doubt PIT matches on anything over 3 years term
he's still just 25 but they have Jarry and Desmith that i know of and likely another i dont

that would make MTL a playoff threat while rebuilding and a chance to take a cup as the underdogs to start but after 2-3 years as our young 19-22 year old players mature and gain
experience we'll become more and more dominant .

Anyone who doesnt perform the playoffs before their final year is trade bait the next year that way we can play next man up while continually re-stocking the prospect pool .

but for now i'm choosing my favorite of the 3 options from the Description written at the top of the post .

  1. Eichel, Jack
Détails additionnels:
WPG now has two top 10 NHL Centers IMO with Wheeler and Eichel. They join EDM and PIT in having Elite level top 6 Centers capable of both reaching the 100 point mark together .

Huh???? What????

Did you just make a ridiculous Eichel trade only to flip him to Winnipeg?

Ok this is by far the most insane thing I’ve ever seen on here. You’ve traded away half of our team plus picks and all we end up with is Laine and Roslovic?

laugh laugh You just gave up great pieces for Jack Eichel, And then flip him to Winnipeg for Laine and Roslovic. How does this benefit Montreal in the long run?

"BUF will walk away with a haul that makes the Duchene trade look small by comparison ."

Knowing how that Duchene trade ended up being one sided you're still going to make this mistake?

I don't think BUF cares much about Primeau when they already have UPL coming soon, Juulsen carries no value at this point so better keep him and hope he gets back 100%. Then the main issue is that you're basically trading our 1st line (Plus a -probable- future 2nd line in the making with the picks) for 2 years worth of an elite sniper (Nobody knows at this point in time if he'll want to stay or not), a middle 6 dude and a mid pick.
Our depth just disappears and if KK wasn't able to produce a month ago I don't think he'll be right off the bat after the camp so that 3rd line isn't playoff bound.

I'm from wpg I'd do this deal in a heart beat, plus I'll stock your soda machine for a year lol.
And I think Liane had improved tones this year along with Rosy becoming more consistent.
But still deal them for Eichel

Juulsen's career is probably over, due to head injuries, why include him in trades?

We want Laine because he's a big , fast and explosive Goal Scorer .
Eichel's no slouch dont get me wrong he's the better player but MTL
can use Laine and Tatar to help elevate Suzuki to top Center status sooner then later.

Suzuki beside a 40 goal scorer and a regular 20 goal scorer leaves me thinking 60-65 point average isnt unreasonable .

its a lot to do with the speed , size and skill of Laine
Eichel would be amazing but given our depth at Center vs on Wing i figured grab a big /fast winger

i mean keeping Eichel's an option to but i feel like Laine with his style of play will explode offensively in the East .
Really though MTL is trading Eichel for a younger player with similar level goal scoring plus a 2nd round pick and prospect center.

Did i flip a Center for a Younger winger who's 6'5 and still fast enough to thrive in our system while getting paid for it ?
yup

Eichel at 10m is just to much when after this move we have 8.8m left to bring on a #1 Center if we want .
Maybe i should have traded for a #1 Center to before hand to make it seem reasonable -ish.

Johnason from NSH woulda made some sense as he add's size and playmaking as well as he'll join a plethora of BC natives here so he should feel comfortable.
at 27 he could be the missing chip to make this less confusing .

Personally i just like Laine better but trading for him for any cost outside Eichel gets immature responses from their fanbase (try it sometime , you can offer them Matthews and they'll complain about the cap i swear to god ) . Hence why i made a 3 way deal out of frustration
