Right but the team is old in hockey age. They are at the very end of this cup window while still having the bad Backes contract. The Blues are younger and offer 2 - 3 more years of a window to win than the Bruins. Plus the Bruins will be hard pressed to sign him with everything they have coming up and will either need to resign or replace.

Could possibly see Edmundson but they will have to replace Pietrangelo skill level too so their not going to be able to address both unless there is a big name for trade.

Dunn & Faulk can offense, also Parayko to an extent. They can't out-Avs the Avs, so they might as well out-muscle them with beefcake. Personally, I like Edmundson.

Krug wont sign with St Louis, Especially for that trash offer. He stays in Boston for that. It's already been pretty much reported that if he doesn't resign in Boston. He'll come home to Detroit probably in the 7 x 7.5 range.

Can't see Krug coming here, personally, but especially at that rate, which I think Boston would be able to offer him and he has expressed desire to remain there. Also think we could get some stuff for Bozak, maybe if we retain salary, as he has been excellent defensively and can chip in a few goals here and there. And teams always need centers.

But all this talk about contending and stuff in the comments- I don't know that this team is truly a contender anymore without Alex Pietrangelo. He's an elite offensive talent and decently good defensively, and is the perfect complement to Parayko who is the opposite. What is this team without him? I think it is imperative that he be re-signed.
