Just threw in Kaut, Bowers, Beucage as suggestions on prospects to move, definitely not solid on anything and looking for a discussion!

First trade is interesting bar Annunen being involved, would have to be a different prospect to make that work for me if I were Joe. Second I'm still 'umming and ahhing'. Third trade is no way, never.

Third is just a joke towards all the canadian media rumors with price lol.

Second is definitely a lot more interesting I agree.

The first is just fitting the sharks goalie needs but also the abs have a lack of goalie depth so then again both teams want annunen but only 1 actually owns him.

Who would you put ahead beau or kaut?

      How about...

      San Jose Sharks
      Vladislav Kamenev
      Martin Kaut
      2020 1st round pick (COL)

      Colorado Avalanche
      Kevin Labanc
      Joe Thornton
      Patrick Marleau
Conditional 2021 3rd round pick (COL receives the pick if both Thornton and Marleau walk as UFAs)

I would take it. Maybe a conditional pick if Labanc lights it up next year but it’s definitely a fair trade! Maybe I’m bias as I like kaut a lot

Annunen would make a lot of sense for the sharks. I can see them zeroing in on him as a big piece of a Lebanc trade.

Honestly believe that is something Avs would be willing to move for a player such as him. 1st is a little heavy, downgrade Kaut piece slightly or sweeten the sharks side. But its clsoe
2nd one feels light for the sharks to be honest.

Would work for the Sharks, but the Avs aren't willing to trade their 1st this year and it seems like a bit of an overpayment

The other 2 trades are just non starters IMO

3rd trade is a joke and 2nd idk, is beaucage ahead of kaut on your radar? Just looking for input on the prospects. I like @BurgerBoss suggestion above

I think they would be for a cost controlled player. Instead of a UFA like Kreider at 7 mil to get him Labanc is a RFA at 3.5-4.5

I looked at the 2nd one again, I miss read Barberio. To be hoent that seems light. Bowers is good but Beaucage is a weird prospect. Lights up the Q but is a terrible skater, needs to be improve that big time

I really believe they would move Kamanev over kaut right now.
Melker Karlsson and Lebanc would be the ideal TDL package from the sharks. 2nd kam and Annunen. As the Avs starter, could amp it up to the 1st if they need to based on conditions etc

Yeah it's a bit, but cheap RFAs are quite rare on the market so there should be some sort of bidding war going on... That would seal the deal, and also COL gets some other good assets and experience for their relatively young team.

I see you edited. So I guess kaut is ahead. If it was the first suggestion would a 3rd plus a spec work?

So kaut barberio annunen -> Labanc Thornton 2020 3rd (Dahlén, True, Gambrell, Roy, idk just throwing random names in) or should sharks add more?

Haha no worries I read it. I think the sharks would do all three if Sakic would want the depth. Thornton deserves a shot so can be added for no value.

      Labanc
      Melker (50%)
      Thornton (50%)
      2020 3rd
Conditional Pick (maybe like 2022 3rd pick?) if Thornton walks to UFA

      For

      Kamenev
      Kaut

Annunen's stats are pretty good and I read somewhere in last off-season that the Avs are very high on him and I think he flies under the radar a little when it comes to the prospects the Avs would be reluctant to trade. He could be the future #1 to my mind. Burger Boss's trade I wouldn't blink at, though I'd maybe look to try and slide the first to a second and make the first conditional on the Avs making the conference finals or something along those lines as the trade only makes sense for the Avs as a run at the cup (dropping the conditional third for balance). Maybe throw in another lower pick or low end prospect/fringe player from the Avs side. Something like......

Kaut, Barberio, Kamenev, 2nd (cond. becomes first if Avs make conference final) for Labanc, Thornton, Marleau.

      Your thoughts?

I think thats super interesting and really aligns with what Sakic said in his presser yesterday and listening to 31 thoughts podcast what friedman said about the Avs.
Will get into the less expensive rental market, Namestnikov was mentioned. and would like to add in a bigger deal if the guy has term.

I think you are right about Annunen...but how long is he away from the Avs? 3 years? 4 years? Hes a solid piece but maybe his window to hit and make an impact during the mack window to win is something they could consider moving int he right deal.

Kaut, Barberio, Kamenev, 2nd (cond. becomes first if Avs make conference final) for Labanc, Thornton, Marleau.

      Your thoughts?

I would expect the conditional would have to be lower. The sharks really want a 1st. 100% they would agree if it was unconditional @TJTwolf maybe. 50% if it wasn’t.

      Good discussion all.

It’s very interesting. I love Labanc I’ve raved about him since the colts days and how the sharks were lucky to get him.

I do believe it would suck to lose Labanc but this deal really is a great step forward for the Sharks culture of the retool and gives jumbo a legit chance to win a cup and helps Colorado even more so with Labanc and melker

I think you are right about Annunen...but how long is he away from the Avs? 3 years? 4 years? Hes a solid piece but maybe his window to hit and make an impact during the mack window to win is something they could consider moving int he right deal.

Agreed, I'm not saying he couldn't be moved but I'd still be loathe to do it. Having a solid first season in the Liiga so could be ready sooner, and with Grubauer and Francouz's ages you've got to think he could be in the window (for MacK and co that is).

If Werner wasnt looking like a good one in the AHL as well, I would be pretty deadset about moving Ann...but its an interesting thought espeically if you get a guy like Lebanc

      How about...

      San Jose Sharks
      Vladislav Kamenev
      Martin Kaut
      2020 1st round pick (COL)

      Colorado Avalanche
      Kevin Labanc
      Joe Thornton
      Patrick Marleau
Conditional 2021 3rd round pick (COL receives the pick if both Thornton and Marleau walk as UFAs)

I think this is a great deal for the Sharks. I've always been a big believer in Kaut, so him plus a first and a solid depth forward for Labanc and two guys about to retire is a ton of value coming back to the Sharks. As for the Avs, I like the idea of them adding all this forward depth. The contributions of Jumbo and Marleau in the bottom six would pay incredible dividends for them, plus the added push in the locker room of wanting to win for those two.

Kauts ceiling is basically Lebanc, so I can see why they would want to target him too. I think the team can do some business together, either at the deadline or in the offseason

Just saying......the original was Kaut, Barberio, Annunen for Labanc, Thornton with retention and a 3rd.

Kaut, Kamenev, Barberio and a second (cond to 1st) for Labanc, Thornton with no retention, Marleau seems to be a much improved deal, no?

The way I'd look at it is you're moving two old veterans to give them a cup shot as a favour and getting back what you can for them, plus a pretty decent guy for a former first who is a solid prospect, a kid who may or not become a solid player (jury is still out on Kamenev, the injuries derailed him but he has the toolbox), a depth D and a second/cond.first. Avs get the veteran savvy for a one and done shot most likely, and of course Labanc as the centre-piece. Hell, Joe and Patrick could probably even re-sign again with the Sharks after lol.

Another option would be to switch out Barberio for a low-end fringe D with more years left like Lindholm, has some NHL experience, fits in the same kind of slot and RFA, so you've still got the option on him.
