Description
Jersey doesn't have to retain salary obviously.
They get a depth Center prospect in Stotts.
A goalie that's pretty much better then Schneider.
A play making, assist wizard that won't crack the leafs roster any time soon.
A depth scoring guy in Petan who just cant seem to find his place in Toronto
and they get a brand new pair of skates with a box of chocolates, the downside is the guy in the skates is Cody Ceci....but if Jersey really wants to tank, play Ceci.

Now I honestly don't know Vatanen well, I don't know what kind of calaber of player he is so I only guessed his value here. He could be worth more or less.

I actually think Vatanan may be a target defenceman for the Leafs.

The Devs would be better off taking an offer from someone of 2 x 2nd rounders...there's more value in that then the pile of corpses you're throwing at them here. Stotts is the only thing that has any form of value here, and it's basically a 3rd.

Oh okay. So an AHL assist wizard. Just wanted to clear that up. That guy with .68 assist per game in the American hockey league. Wizard.

I can see that as well, And probably a cheaper option for them at RD.

The guy who is such an amazing prospect they didn't even look at him when Marner went down for a few games. Wizard indeed.

Petan just can't find a footing on the Leafs or the 30 other teams who passed on him on waivers twice. If you want an actual example of that, look at Seeler for the Wild. Couldn't crack their lineup, but was too good to make it through waivers. Let's stop making BS excuses, Petan isn't worth anything unless we're swapping AHL depth.

Vatanen is a right handed LD. Can he play his off-side? Maybe but I'd rather trade for a sure thing kind of scenario then this.

And yes the trade value is off...the Devils would not do this.

We'll seek if the Leaf make a trade to replace the injured and much maligned Ceci? Is Liljegren or Marincin going to be his replacement. Certainly they can't overwork Barrie and Holl and expect positive result.
I'm the minority when I say the Leafs are weaker without Ceci.

They are weaker without Ceci but...he's injured right now (high ankle sprain) and not sure he gets healthy in time to be part of any trade.

Still...adding Vatanen does not solve the RHD issues the Leafs have at the moment and going into the future.
