Description
After watching Wild come out of the break GMBG has seen enough and knows what he must do.
Zucker - trade
Staal - look for a 1st or top prospect.
Zuccarello - no GM is dumb enough to take this deal without completely screwing the Wild.
Parise - read Zuccarello description.
Koivu - probably won't except a trade.
Foligno - wouldn't trade him.
JEEK - If I'm not getting overpaid I'm not trading him.
Kunin - same as JEEK
Greenway - listening to my options on him if I get a 1st or good prospect it's a deal.
Rask - trade if anyone is willing to give anything for him.
Hartman - 4th rounder or equivalent piece.
Donato - 4th or better its deal.
Suter- still has value but no one will pony up.
Spurgeon - it will take the right deal to move him.
Brodin - trade only because he is one of the Wilds best bargaining chips.
Dumba - Wilds most valued player but the right deal isn't out there so he isn't moving revisit in the offseasons.
Saucy - keeping him.
Pateryn - 3rd or better I'll take it.
Seeler - has no value so he stays.
Hunt - 3rd or better.
Dubnyk - not worth anything. Buy out in offseason.
Stalock - he stays so Wild don't have to expose Kahkonen in expansion draft.
Tell me what you think. Oilers trade is a bit of a mess I think Wild need to add a little, but I feel like most of these pieces should be involved.

Massive underpay for Carolina. Edmonton doesn't need Spurgeon when Bear and Bouchard will soon be part of their top two pairings on the right side.

Galchenyuk is probably a dump but 4 assets for Zucker is a bit high. Pens easily give the rest up for Zucker and try to move other assets with Galchenyuk for a RW.

Carolina massive overpay?
Staal would be there 2C Brodin would stabilize there defense. Brodin is worth a top prospect and a 1st and Staal is worth next years weaker draft late 1st.
Oilers have good young defenseman but could use a vetran in the playoffs, also I think the Idea of getting rid of Neal would be appealing to them.

Carolina literally laugh you away, Bokk 2 1sts, and a 60 point pace player, for a 60 point pace player, and Brodin? No thank you sir

I may have misworded that. That Carolina trade is lopsided in your favor. That's essentially three first round picks (if Bokk is still considered a good prospect), a forward on pace for 50 points this year, and an "okay" bottom six forward. Erik Haula isn't a cap dump. All of that for two players who will be UFAs in two years. I agree that those are good pieces for Carolina, but it's not worth giving up all of that when they're not even an "all-in" team.

A RHD veteran for the playoffs could be useful for Edmonton, but getting Spurgeon is not the right move. Spurgeon is locked up long term and Edmonton soon won't need him, especially on that contract. There are other short-term options that are easier for Edmonton.

No I may be presenting the trade poorly. The trade is only Brodin and Staal for 20 and 21 firsts and Bokk. Haula and Martinook are just the guys I think they would move to make salary cap room. Carolina could trade Haula and Martinook to any other team for assets, that's why I have them scratched because they are not really on the team.
The Oilers trade you are right about. I figure after trading for spurgeon and riding themselves of Neals contract they could use some of their young defenseman as trade bait to get another forward. Maybe a Toffoli not sure what the best fit would be. Also I think the Oilers are really heavy at young good defenseman and might want to move a couple so Seattle doesn't just rob them.

Edmonton has absolutely no need whatsoever for Spurgeon. We have a logjam at D and we aren't giving up a 1st to add a player that doesnn't address any need for us. Only player Edmonton might be interested in is Zucker

Just the daily reminder... Galchenyuk has more points/60 and more hits/60 than Zucker this season. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

In that case, then the value is closer, but might still not be there. It all depends on how much of a risk Carolina is willing to take. That's a lot of future assets that they are giving up when they are not guaranteed a playoff spot.

Wild not anywhere near as good as Penguins. Zucker soars to new highs on playing with Crosby or Geno.
If Galchenyuk didn't suck he would play more.

Then drop them. 3 1sts (Bokk was a 1st rounder and still looks VERY promising) for Brodin and Staal is still a nope from Carolina

History shows that the "they will be better with Crosby/Malkin" is false.

You said Galchenyuk sucks... yet he out produces Zucker with their time on ice. So if Galchenyuk out produces offensively and physically per 60 more than Zucker... but Galchenyuk sucks... hmmmm?

It's ok you hold strong that Galchenyuk is a good player and I'll stick with my Zucker is a good player. We are two people with different opinions and I'm guessing we will never see eye to eye on this.

Pit has a good PP and MN doesn't. 5v5 Zucker is .5 p/60 ahead of Chucky.

Ha! Nothing better than the counter position undercutting itself.

Minnesota PP: 20.0%, 13th in the league
Pittsburgh PP: 19.9%, 14th in the league

Completely false perceptions of reality. ...Just like the perception that Zucker is anything special, specifically when considering his contract.

Zucker is fairly paid for what he is as a play. It's not a good or bad contract.

This season:
Chucky: 2.0p/60 (all), 1.5 p/60 (even), 5.3 p/60 (PP)
Zucker: 2.5p/60 (all), 2.2p/60 (even), 4.6 p/60 (PP)

Agreed. And even if Edmonton needed Spurgeon, he isn't worth essentially three 1st round picks. He's 30 and being paid over $7.5M for the next 7 years - yikes!

Yeah, and Galchenyuk is considered to be having a complete failure of a season... is also $600K cheaper and a UFA.

But I would like to go back to your comment that Pit has a good PP and MN doesn't... sarcasm

What exactly are you trying to say. Zucker is over rated and over paid. Penguins should instead play Galchenyuk? If he didn't suck Penguins would play him. Perhaps he sucks in the defensive zone. I don't know. What I do know is the Pens are not happy with his game. On the other hand the Wild are very pleased with Zucker. They just have too many wings. Statistics don't always tell the whole story. As far as I'm concerned I hope the Pens listen to you and just keep Galchenyuk that way he can continue to prove you right.
