Many of those guys will likely be future buyout candidates but some currently are either providing value or don't matter since they are FA after this season.
Wouldn't be Brown for LA. Even though he is definitely overpaid at this point, he's still an NHL player, the heart and soul of the team, and provides valuable leadership. He's going to retire in LA.
It would probably be Quick since they have both Campbell and Petersen signed and waiting for ice time.
If Hawks think Seabrook’s career is over, they may not buy him out for his LTIR value. My vote would be Duncan Keith. Though he’s serviceable now, he’s definitely not a top Dman anymore and he’s making $5.4M I think for another 4 years.
No team will buyout a player who is still playing good now. Barring they are in a complete fix with the salary cap but even then trades should be able to help with that. The player has to be already playing poorly for that to even be considered and some of those guys on this list are still playing great.
