Retain half, but I don't think Kings get a 1st for Toffoli unless another player is part of the deal. It's close value though considering how Toffoli is doing.

Kings should do this, I dont know if the avs would give up the 1st.
Man looking at the kings and trying to see how they can rebuild is tough. So many years and so much money on players on a decline. I love Kopitar, but he's overpayed by 2 mill. I love Doughty, but that cap hit is tough to swallow. Brown and Quick's contracts look reallly bad

Don't think Avs will trade their 1st away in the upcoming draft. If you change it to the 2021 1st and retain like 1M it might work

Avs loaded up last year with two firsts I think this years first is expendable. But kings may need to add in a 4th or something

It's a very deep draft and it looks like the Avs 1st might end up being a middle round pick. They could use like a RD prospect since they have basically just Timmins
if I'm right or maybe a winger. 2021 1st will also be closer valuewise

On TheAthletic today was written this concerning Toffoli and his deadline pricetag:
"One executive said the expected asking price on Toffoli is a second-round pick and a prospect, which might make Toffoli more appealing for teams cringing at the idea of moving a first for a rental. “(It) is pretty reasonable,” he said. “They’ll get it.”

Unfortunately the Avs don’t have a 2020 2nd which is why I went after the 1st and a lower level prospect

Blake is an idiot if that's the true price tag he has placed. Toffoli could bring more than that in the right kind of deal. Not to mention if he goes on a tear between now and then.

Any team that offers up a 1st for Toffoli will get him, late round or not. I could see LA offering Calgary's 4th in return to mitigate.

I think a 1st round pick for rental Toffoli is an overpayment though. Honestly, I don't think any of the rentals this year are worth a 1st round pick.
