Maybe if the first was 2020 1st Detroit says yes. Vanecek is good a couple of articles I read say he is Hershey's best player but this is his fifth pro season and he still hasn't played 1 game in the NHL. Johansen has been second pair defenseman in the AHL for 3 seasons. Good skating, average skill and a average defender. Now he is still young and could end up being a good player. AA is pretty much the only valuable player Detroit can afford to trade so they need to get a good return. AA is still has 2 seasons until he is a UFA so Detroit doesn't have to trade him. So keeping him another season is a very good possibility because he is only 4 points off of last pace. Plus it's not just AA struggling it's the whole team. Detroit has scored 27 less goals than at this time last season. So you can say Detroit fans here are overvaluing AA but most the people who whine about that on this site would do the same thing if the situation was reversed.
